Kris Jenner and boyfriend Corey Gamble among the celebrities onboard $300m luxury yacht targeted by vandals protesting climate change in Barcelona

  • David Geffen’s superyacht, the Rising Sun, was destroyed by protesters
  • A group of environmentalists poured buckets of paint onto the side of the ship
  • Yacht features 82 rooms, a gym, basketball court, wine cellar and cinema

Kris Jenner and her longtime boyfriend Corey Gamble were with friends aboard a luxury private yacht when it was targeted by vandals protesting climate change in Barcelona on Sunday.

The 68-year-old “momager” — who recently said she can’t spend one-on-one time with her 13 grandchildren to “really get to know them” — was eating on the ship’s deck when it was splashed with black paint.

According to bystanders, a group of environmentalists poured buckets of paint onto the side of the ship. Some held signs reading “Flammable Fossils” and “Turism” as police attended.

The $300 million yacht is owned by billionaire David Geffen, 80, who was also on board with his friend Donovan Michaels, 30.

Geffen made his fortune as co-founder of DreamWorks and as a record executive.

During the fiasco, Jenner kept her cool as she wore a trendy black and white tracksuit with designer sunglasses.

Her longtime boyfriend Corey Gamble, 43, looked comfortable in a gray T-shirt and black cargo shorts with a gold watch to take his look to the next level.

Geffen, 81, wore a tan sun hat with navy blue accents paired with a black long sleeve as he hugged another friend.

It is not yet known whether charges have been filed against the activists who threw the paint on the boat.

Only a small portion of the left front of the ship was stained, but was immediately scrubbed away.

The Rising Sun is approximately 138 meters tall. It cost at least $300 million (£250 million), and some reports suggest it could be worth as much as $590 million (£498 million).

The superyacht was originally built in 2004 by Germany’s Lurssen at the Bremen shipyard for Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle Corporation.

The ship has no fewer than 82 rooms and features a gym, a basketball court, a wine cellar and a cinema.

Businessman Geffen, who founded the DreamWorks film studio and several record labels, has owned the superyacht since 2010, after initially purchasing a half share of the yacht in late 2006.

The mogul has hosted a long list of celebrities on the ship, including Barack and Michelle Obama, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bruce Springsteen, Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey and Orlando Bloom.
