Kourtney Kardashian shares new photo of Travis Barker stitched up finger following surgery

Travis Barker’s once badly injured ring finger appears to be healing nicely, just days after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament.

The Blink-182 drummer injured his finger twice during rehearsals last month for the band’s upcoming reunion tour with singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge.

Images shared on social media before the operation showed a large knot at the top of the knuckle, which is where it had been dislocated due to a torn ligament.

In the new image shared by his grateful wife, the finger looks almost back to normal, with little to no swelling, except for the long, thick spots that are still embedded in his skin, with very little swelling remaining.

The surgery forced Blink-182 to postpone the South American leg of their tour. which would have started their meeting.

On Friday, right after the operation, Barker was more than happy to be able to call the operation a “success,” while also thanking all the fans who expressed their love and concern for him.

“Thank you for all the love, prayers and understanding this week when I went into surgery,” she wrote on Instagram, before sharing some of the consequences if she hadn’t had the surgery. ‘It was a difficult decision to make, but in the end I couldn’t continue playing drums without her. It was inevitable that my finger would have been re-dislocated without surgical repair of the torn ligament.

The 47-year-old Fontana, California native also gave a special thanks to his doctor, whose expertise will allow him to ‘keep doing what I love’, which his fans, friends and family know is playing the drums.

He ended the March 3 Instagram post: “See you on tour soon.”

Barker first revealed that his finger was injured in a tweet on February 8, telling fans, “I was playing drums in rehearsals yesterday and I broke my finger so hard I dislocated it and tore ligaments.”

Less than two weeks later, on February 20, he took to social media again to reveal that he injured his finger again, along with images of his swollen and bruised knuckle.

And then finally, on the 27th of last month, he informed fans that the injury was severe enough to require surgery.

The Blink-182 trio had been hard at work rehearsing for their long-awaited reunion, which was scheduled to begin on March 11, when DeLonge took to social media to break the news that they had to temporarily postpone the start of the tour.

“This has been something we’ve been trying to do for so long and we worked so hard and we just had one of those freak accidents that no one saw coming,” DeLonge shared in an Instagram video on Wednesday, March 1. Travis needs to come in and have surgery on his finger and we have to get it right. We have to be that strong before we can do anything else. This is very sad.’

The tour will now kick off May 4 in Saint Paul and run through July 16, when the band wraps up the North American leg in Nashville, according to the band website. The European leg will begin in September, followed by a season in Australia starting in February 2024.

The upcoming world tour reunites the classic version of Blink-182: Barker, DeLonge and Mark Hoppus, for the first time since 2015, when DeLonge left the band to devote more time to other interests and his band Angels & Airways.

The Latin American leg of the tour, to be completed in 2024, prominent stops in Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Bogotá, Lima and more, according to Billboard.
