Kourtney Kardashian makes reference to Blink 182’s All The Small Things in pregnancy announcement

Kourtney Kardashian referenced Blink-182’s iconic song, All The Small Things, when she announced she’s expecting her first child with Travis Barker.

The reality TV star, 44, revealed the happy news with a sign reading: ‘Travis, I’m pregnant!’ as she stood in the crowd at his band’s show in Los Angeles on Friday.

Released in 1999, All The Small Things remains Blink-182’s most famous song, with the accompanying music video cementing the band’s image.

The now widely known clip sees the rockers – Travis, Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus – parody and mock boy bands such as Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync, as well as the music videos of singers Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

The drummer is seen on the beach with a bikini-clad woman before later reappearing at their show and announcing she is pregnant by holding up a sign.

It was voted Best Video at the Kerrang 2000! Awards as well as Best Group Video at the MTV Video Music Awards that same year.

In 2016, Travis admitted that despite its frenzied popularity, the band couldn’t bear to play the song live – however, it remains their main closing number at shows.

“There was a point where Mark, Tom and I thought, ‘We can’t play All The Small Things again,'” he admitted. NME.

“We’d go crazy, but it would be like going to Jay Z and he’s not playing 99 Problems.

“For your fans, it’s their favorite song and they wait all night to finally hear it — no matter if it’s over 15 years old,” he explained.

The couple’s announcement comes after Kourtney revealed last December that she had officially halted her IVF journey — 10 months earlier after saying it had sent her into a deep depression, among other things.

She already shares three children — Mason, 13, Penelope, 10, and Reign, eight — with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, 39.

Travis has two children – Landon, 29, and Alabama, 17 – with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler, 48.

Kourtney and Travis became romantically involved in late 2020 after nearly a decade of friendship.

They made their relationship Instagram official in February 2021 and were engaged in October.

The couple married in May 2022 at a Santa Barbara courthouse before flying to Portofino, Italy a week later to have a lavish wedding at the Dolce & Gabbana mansion in front of their friends and family.

Kourtney has been open with fans about her attempts to father a child with husband Travis through in vitro fertilization.

In 2022, Kourtney first described her struggle with IVF on Hulu’s The Kardashians.

In the episode, Kourtney was at her home in Calabasas when mom Kris Jenner came to visit and asked how the doctors were doing, to which Kourtney replied, “Terrible.”

Kourtney revealed in a confession that their doctor put them “on this road of IVF, and it wasn’t the most amazing experience.”

She also claimed that the “medication they put me on put me into menopause, literally into menopause.”

Along with the Kourtney said it also put her into depression and caused weight gain.

“Because I’m so clean and careful about what I put in my body, I think it’s like I’m getting the opposite reaction and acting as a contraceptive instead of helping us,” she told the audience at the time.

‘I have everything in the world to be happy with. I just feel a little off and not myself. Super moody and hormonal, like I’m crazy half the time.”

In December 2022, she confirmed to fans that she had officially stopped treatment 10 months earlier and was only just “getting my energy back.”

She said The Wall Street Journal that she was “taking a break to just focus on our wedding and getting married” – which took place in May 2022.

On the season three premiere episode of The Kardashians, the POOSH founder further discussed their choice to stop IVF and how she froze her eggs in her 30s.

“We’d love a baby more than anything, but I just really believe in what God has in store for us,” she explained.

Kourtney had “seven frozen eggs from years ago before Travis” that those around her pushed to get.

“When I was 38 or 39, everyone pushed me to do that and most of me didn’t survive the thaw because eggs are one cell and none of them made it into an embryo.”

Kourtney was always aware that “egg freezing is no guarantee” that she would get pregnant.

She told her sister Khloe that she and Travis already “have a full, blessed life” without a child, so they didn’t let it faze them.

“Everything that came with IVF took a physical toll on me. My health is still affected because it’s hormones. And it also took its toll mentally,’ she explains.

“So I think the most important thing is just being happy and being a good parent to my kids. We just embrace what is meant to be.”

Kourtney previously said motherhood is her “favorite role in life” and that it “gives me purpose.”
