Manchester United and England star Kobbie Mainoo wowed England fans when he appeared at a Topps event in association with Match Attax.
In a Manchester newsagent’s shop, football content creator Billy Wingrove acted as a shopkeeper for three young fans who were invited to collect a prize after winning a card collecting competition.
As fans entered the store they discussed their card collections and support for United, listing their favorite players, with Mainoo often mentioned.
As Wingrove pretended to accept the prize, Mainoo came out of the storage room, much to the surprise of the fans, who had also been promised 100 packs of cards.
Mainoo, who withdrew from the current England squad due to injury, then handed out signed cards of himself, leaving fans almost speechless as they met one of their heroes.

‘It was an incredible moment to meet these young fans. Seeing their faces light up when we surprised them was very special,” Mainoo said. ‘Growing up I enjoyed collecting and trading Match Attax cards with my friends at school, so it was something really special to be a part of this with Billy.
“Seeing their raw passion for football and the excitement these cards bring reminds me why I love the game.”
The likes of Mainoo, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane all feature in the Match Attax UCC 2024/25 collection, which features players and teams from this season’s UEFA competitions.
In the Match Attax series, a number of real autograph cards can be collected, similar to the cards Mainoo has distributed.
