Thousands of heavy metal fans have taken to the mosh pit in wild outfits for Knotfest.
Revelers poured out of Centennial Park, in inner-east Sydney, on Saturday for the festival headlined by heavy metal legends Slipknot.
The 2023 lineup for the festival also includes genre heavyweights Parkway Drive, Megadeath, Trivium and Swedish heavy metal chapter Amon Marth.
The internationally touring festival landed in Melbourne on Friday on the first of their three Australian legs.
Among the thousands was Married at First Sight star, Jesse Bufford, who was one of many black-clad attendees for the event, enjoying a quick meal before the main acts.

Countless festival-goers dressed in their favorite band’s merchandise for the event, while others paid homage to musicians’ personas.
A contestant dressed in a clown mask, much like Slipknot’s Shawn Crahan who wears a clown mask on stage and goes by the stage name ‘The Clown’.
Another fan wore a Jesus Christ costume, referencing stereotypes that heavy metal is satanic.
Many revelers dressed in all black for the occasion, many wearing leather boots and displaying large tattoos.
Other excited fans gave the classic ‘hand horns’ symbol as they entered the festival.

First announced in mid-2012, Knotfest backed up the promise of a “dark carnival experience,” complete with large circus tents, amusement park rides, and drumming circles made from junkyard cars.
The festival has since toured countries around the world every year, including Japan, Mexico, Colombia, Finland, Germany, France, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
It has also played the stage for many of the biggest names in the genre, including Marilyn Manson, Korn and Deftones.
Brisbane is the next and final stop on Saturday’s Australian tour.
