A man with a knife has attacked and injured several passengers at the Gare du Nord station in Paris.
The frenzy, which was carried out with a homemade blade, began at 6:40 a.m. local time inside Europe’s busiest train station.
A police officer returning home at the end of his shift shot the attacker and “neutralized” him and placed him under arrest. The reason is not yet clear.
Six people are believed to have been injured in the riot, including a border police officer.

Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said this morning: ‘An individual has injured several people this morning at Gare du Nord.
He was quickly neutralized. Thanks to the security forces for their effective and courageous reaction.’
The incident has caused significant delays to trains at the station in the early hours of the morning, according to the live departure board of operator SNCF.
The TER Hauts-de-France rail network said in a statement: “Traffic is interrupted at the departure and arrival of Paris Nord.
‘Police opened fire on a threatening person who is said to have injured customers at the Gare du Nord.
‘The person was controlled, the emergency services intervened and the person was evacuated.
A security perimeter has been established, but the station continues to function as normal.
France remains on a state of heightened security alert after a series of deadly attacks since 2015.
