Kmart is urgently recalling a popular product due to fear of electric shock: stop using it NOW
A popular lamp sold at Kmart across Australia has been recalled over fears that its users could be electrocuted.
Marmo table lamps with inline switches have been recalled due to a defect that exposed live wires, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission confirmed.
“The power cord can come loose where it meets the inline switch, exposing live wires,” reports ACCC.
“There is a risk of serious injury or death from electric shock or electrocution.
“Electric shock incidents associated with this defect have occurred.”

Affected lamps have key codes 42245209 and 42328384, with batch codes from 33/15 to 51/18, and were sold between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2019.
What are the flaws?
The power cord can come loose where it touches the inline switch, exposing live wires.
What are the dangers?
There is a risk of serious injury or death from electric shock or electrocution. Electric shock incidents associated with this defect have occurred.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should stop using the product immediately, unplug it and cut the cord safely.
Return to your nearest Kmart or Khub store for a refund or exchange for a new Marmo table lamp.
