Kmart shoppers obsessed with $8 dupe of $77 cult Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum cream: ‘It smells identical’

Shoppers are going wild over a cheap Kmart purchase that is almost ten times cheaper than its high-street counterpart.

In a country where dupes are popping up everywhere, it was only a matter of time before an affordable version of Sol de Janeiro’s popular Bum Bum Cream would hit the market.

Kmart’s OXX Cosmetics just released a slew of products seemingly inspired by Sol de Janeiro, including lotions, mists, body butters and fragrances.

Beauty lovers in particular are rushing to buy the Beach Bliss Summer Solstice Body Butter ($8), claiming it smells “exactly the same” as the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream ($77).

“I sprinted to Kmart as soon as I saw this online and I’m in love,” one fan wrote. ‘It smells exactly the same: the perfect dupe!’

Kmart also sells the Beach Bliss Summer Solstice Body Mist ($8), a budget dupe for the Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist ($61).

‘Kmart’s butt cream!’ one customer exclaimed. “These would be cool if they were real!”

Australians can also get both purchases together with a lip balm in a gift set for $16.

Other scents from the Sol de Janeiro range are also on offer, including the popular Coco Cabana, which is similar to Kmart’s ‘Coconut Waves’ range.

Bibs revealed on TikTok that the scent was a mixture of coconut, hazelnut and vanilla.

“It’s so good, especially the big thick lip balms,” she said. “The set smells so similar, it’s a pretty good dupe.”
