Shoppers rush to buy $30 Kmart Australia dress that looks identical to a popular $160 version: ‘Need this now’
A $30 knit dress from Kmart Australia is flying off the shelves because of its chic design that bears a similar resemblance to an expensive alternative.
Customers are obsessed with Kmart’s V-Neck Long Sleeve Ribbed Maxi Dress for its versatility, comfort and style.
Joy, better known as @joytanpilay on TikTok, boasted about the affordable purchase in a now-viral video and said it reminds her of Dissh’s Reign dress, which costs $159.99.
“Ladies, you need to run to Kmart because they have this beautiful knit dress… I am so impressed with the quality of this dress,” she said in the clip.
‘The material is extremely soft and comfortable, but not see-through and has a flattering cut.’

Many agreed that the budget dress resembles Dissh’s Reign dress, which costs $159.99 (pictured)
One of the few differences between the two dresses is that the Dissh version has an adjustable back waistband, lettuce hem cuffs, and a heavier weight.
The Dissh dress is available from size XS to XXL and there are three color options: black, stone and white.
The Kmart dress also comes in three different shades, including black, bone beige and grape.
Joy’s video quickly caught the attention of other shoppers and has since been viewed more than 200,000 times.
“OMG looks like the Dissh dress,” one woman agreed.
‘I have this in black and it is so comfortable! And surprisingly warm,” another added.
“Quality doesn’t come close to Dissh, but is certainly good for Kmart,” said a third.
“INSANE how it looks exactly like the dress Witchery made for $150, like that omg? My work also made a limited edition dress like this one, in a dark fern, for $120,” someone else wrote.
Shoppers bragged about the purchase on TikTok and Jane (right) shared three ways to style it
Another customer posted one video which details three ways to style the popular dress.
Jane, who is known for sharing fashion tips on TikTok, first paired the dress with a denim jacket, white sneakers, sunglasses and a white tote bag for a casual look.
For a chicer look, she wore a black blazer with a belt over the dress and heeled boots.
And for a comfortable weekend outfit, she opted for a trench coat, black loafers and matching bag with a striped cardigan over her shoulders.
“Being 24 weeks pregnant, I wear knitted dresses especially at this time of year,” she wrote.
‘This is such a versatile piece that we can wear every day, as workwear and much more!’
