Kmart fans are competing to win the $10 version of a ‘cult’ fashion buy that’s one of the ‘must have’ items of 2024.
The Kmart Sleeveless Rib Embroidery Tank Shirt for $10 is a striking resemblance to the Embroidered Rib Stretch Cotton Tank Shirt from Spanish luxury brand Loewe for $665.
Instagram account Martinsider shared the fashion find, which comes in white and black and features a similar iconic ‘anagram’ pattern to the Loewe tank top.
The folks at Kmart Insider compared Loewe to other designs from Camilla & Marc ($150) and Seed ($39.95) and decided the $10 Kmart tank top was the winner: “I’d take the Anko anagram over anything.”
“The design team at Kmart is livid and I’m all for it, honestly. Huge fan. 10 out of 10,” said one woman.
“The Kmart product is much better,” said another.
Perth-based affordable fashion enthusiast Courtney Vincent called Kmart’s new release the tank top “you need” in a video she posted to TikTok.
And a fan of the trendy crew-neck top agreed. He felt it wasn’t enough to have just one color: “I have the white one, but I definitely want the black one too.”

Buyers couldn’t believe how much the alternative designer versions cost in stores.
One woman was shocked at the idea of spending $655 more on the Loewe tank top when the $10 version was nearly identical: ‘$665 for a singlet! Seriously, what a joke.’
“The lady at Kmart looks happier…because she didn’t waste most of her paycheck,” another woman joked.
Cash-strapped Australians struggling with the low cost of living are increasingly turning to budget stores such as Kmart and Target to keep up with the latest fashion trends.
This new seasonal release follows Kmart’s launch of the highly sought-after Slingback Kitten Heel for $22.
Kmart fans said the Slingback Heels look nearly identical to Miu Miu’s Patent Bow Slingback Pumps, which retail for $2,070, and are one of the biggest trends of 2023.
The stylish heels are available in classic black and an elegant burgundy color.
“$22 heels that look just like the real thing, I want both colors,” one woman said.
