Kmart Australia leaves fans stunned after launching $15 ‘dupe’ of $1700 high-end shoes
Fans of Kmart Australia have spotted a stylish new pair of shoes that bear a striking resemblance to a more expensive alternative.
The budget retailer has launched the $15 Diamante Ballet Flats and they’re already so popular that they’ve sold out online in both colors.
Astute buyers were quick to notice that this affordable bargain is comparable to the Khaite Marcy Flats, with a price tag of a whopping $1,740.
Both shoes are designed with diamond details in the mesh construction, however, the Khaite flats are made in Italy.
The style blogger, who goes by the name ‘Kmart Insider’ on Instagram, highlighted the huge savings opportunity and stressed that you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to look good.
“Walk with a little bling in your step. I like the $15 Kmart version better. How about you?” she wrote.
Customers were very enthusiastic about the product and admitted that they will immediately buy one as soon as it is available.

But some weren’t fans of the style.
“Not for me,” someone admitted.
“I think they’re all ugly. $1740, how ridiculous,” wrote another.
The department store has become known for releasing ‘dupes’ of popular products across all categories – from beauty products to fashion and homewares.
Earlier this month, a $15 Kmart bag turned heads for its striking resemblance to an exclusive $20,000 Hermès bag.
The budget retailer’s Mini Crossbody Bag ($15) bears a striking resemblance to the famous Hermes “Kelly” bag, with some models costing between $20,000 and over $300,000.
The brand’s ‘Birkin’ and ‘Kelly’ bags are limited editions and would only be offered to long-time Hermès shoppers.
Both the Hermes and Kmart models are trapezoidal in shape and close around the mouth with two horizontal bands.
