Mom’s shock after seeing ‘terrifying’ new Spongebob Squarepants toys at Kmart Australia
A mum is left shocked after seeing Kmart’s latest ‘Spongebob and Patrick’ toys.
The toys are part of the Fuggler range – cuddly toys that have been deliberately made ‘ugly’ – and are a hit with children despite their scary appearance.
The mother, like many others, was unaware of the reach and was disgusted by the ‘high’ looking children’s television characters when she saw them.
She posted a photo of the retailer’s ad showing the toy, alongside the caption, “What the hell is this?”
“Spongebob and Patrick ate a special crabby patty,” one mom joked on the woman’s post.

Others quickly added an explanation for the “creepy” toy.
“Fugglers, they’re super cute if you look at them closely,” one woman said.
“The farts are the best, my son loves his,” said another.
But the creepy toy is a hard ‘no’ for others.

“I work in childcare and I absolutely hate these things,” said another.
“These are creeps. Why do they have human faces?’ another woman asked.
A third said her son would probably love it, but she’s not convinced she has one at home.
The special edition Fugglers cost $15 at Kmart.
