Kmart brings back a classic 90s buy for $8 – and it’s a ‘must’ for summers at the beach

Kmart Australia has delighted its die-hard fans with a new summer must-have – and it costs just $8.

Jelly sandals are back on the shelves at the major retailer – this time aimed at adults – many of whom remember squeezing them as children.

The fashionable shoes allow customers to put their best (and cutest) foot forward during the holidays and are available in bright watermelon pink and dark gray.

‘Finally yellow sandals. I’ve been waiting for this,” said one excited customer.

‘Omg, they’re back! I wore these religiously when I was little,” another agreed.

A third said she was ‘shivering’ with excitement before heading to Kmart for a pair, saying she had been saving her childhood jelly sandals ‘for this exact moment’.

Fans couldn’t help but notice ’90s trends in full force at the popular store.

“The ra-ra skirts are coming back, all we need now are the stirrup pants and we’re back to the 90s,” said one.

But not everyone was happy with the shoe’s return after a 30-year hiatus.

“The sweat, the blisters, oh GOD, the PTSD,” one woman shouted.

“Every millennial remembers the blisters on these shoes,” said another.

One woman revealed that as a child her feet became so slippery in a pair of similar shoes that she rolled her ankle.

“One message and my nightmares have returned,” another added.

But fans said there is a simple solution to every possible jelly-shoe problem.

‘Just where they are with cute, white socks. Simple,” someone said.

Younger fans, who couldn’t remember the last time the shoes were in fashion, were impressed.

“OMG look, that’s so dead,” someone said.

“These are the cutest shoes, I need both colors,” said another.

There are similar sandals available in the children’s section, they range from $8 to $12.
