Kmart customers have been hit with a wave of nostalgia after seeing an iconic piece of furniture from the ’90s and ’90s back on the shelves.
The budget retailer has quietly restocked inflatable lounge chairs, more than two decades after they invaded lounge areas across the country.
The armchairs, which come in pink and blue, cost just $8 and are described as perfect for camping and festivals.
But hundreds of customers have revealed out of nostalgia that they just need one.
“I remember saying that I would only have inflatable furniture in my house if I moved,” one Australian millennial admitted.
And hundreds of others agreed.
‘Me too, now that dream can become reality. 2025 is my year!’.
“I think we’ve all dreamed of lounge areas full of these,” said another.

Others could remember the moment inflatable furniture became popular.
“I was in fifth grade, they also had pencil cases and backpacks,” one woman said.
“It was the year 2000, and I had to have one because all my friends did,” said another.
“When I was 16, I had the double purple couch in my room,” one woman said.
“They really hit it big in the mid 90s,” another added.
People said they would go straight to the shops to pick one up.
“Just in time for summer, the stickiness, the sweat,” one woman laughed.
“And also the squeaky moans they made in the heat,” one man added.
But some people weren’t sold on the new design.
‘Where are the armrests?’ a woman asked.
Others were unimpressed for other reasons.
“Imagine trying to get out of that at 30,” one man said.
‘Not to brag, but I had the whole lime green lounge set. I hate green and they felt so uncomfortable,” another added.
A third said: ‘The fumes from the original set I had in the 90s actually made me sick.’
‘Not all of us are working hard to reduce our use of plastic; it’s just more plastic and honestly I would choose shopping bags over this trash,” moaned another.
