Klipsch’s affordable bookshelf speakers are coming to Britain – but US fans are still strangely stuck at Costco
- The largest bookshelf speakers from Klipsch’s Reference range
- The same woofer as the R-605FA floorstanders
- £425.00 in the UK, $399 in the US
We’ve got good news for British Klipsch fans and slightly less good news for American ones: the high-end audio equipment maker has brought its latest pair of bookshelf speakers to the UK and Europe as well. But in the US, they are still exclusive to Costco for now.
The new Klipsch R-60M is the latest addition to the company’s Reference speaker range and they feature the same 6.5-inch spun copper TCP woofer as the R-605FA floorstanding speaker. They also have the Reference Series tweeter and edge-to-edge square “Tractrix” horn, which Klipsch says delivers “an impressive sound across the entire frequency spectrum.”

The new R-60M features a 3/4 MDF cabinet with a new bracing design designed to reduce vibration, remove unwanted audio coloration and deliver better accuracy, and the cabinet is finished in scratch-resistant wood grain vinyl with hidden fasteners and low profile magnetic grilles.
These are the largest bookshelves in the Reference range, and they have a frequency range of 50 Hz to 21 kHz and a continuous power of up to 85 W and a peak power of 340 W. They are 8 ohm compatible and measure 400 m x 203 mm x 336 mm and a weight of 7.75 kg. You can have any color you want as long as it is black.
The Klipsch R-60M speakers have an RRP of £425 in the UK, compared to £399 in the US and €449.00 in Europe. At this price they are very competitive among the best stereo speakers with an audiophile edge – perhaps they will soon be available in the US in stores where they can be demoed…
