Kit Harington STRANGLES Mark Wahlberg in new role as knife-wielding maniac as they shut down London’s historic Whitehall for action packed bus-top brawl while filming The Family Plan 2

Mark Wahlberg, Kit Harington and Michelle Monaghan shut down London’s Whitehall on Sunday as filming began for The Family Plan 2.

The actors were spotted filming an intense action scene on the roof of a tinsel-decorated London bus for the sequel near Downing Street in London.

In the scene, former Game Of Thrones star Kit was seen choking Mark before holding Michelle’s character at knifepoint.

Kit held a terrified Mark over the side of the bus as they struggled on the top deck.

To enable filming, the production has obtained permits to close parts of Whitehall, ensuring the safety of the cast, crew and audience.

The scenes were shot with famous London landmarks in view, including London’s Cenotaph.

The Family Plan 2 is the sequel to the hit action comedy, with Mark returning as devoted family man Dan, who discovers that his past as a hitman returns and threatens the idyllic life he has created for himself.

Michelle reprises her role as Mark’s wife for the sequel, while Kit plays an undisclosed role.

This is the second time Michelle has taken on the role of Wahlberg’s wife. She previously played his wife in the 2016 film Patriots Day, an action thriller about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings.

Simon Cellan Jones will also return as director alongside David Coggeshall, the writer of the first film, to write the sequel set during Christmas in Europe.

The synopsis teases that Mark’s character Dan has planned the perfect vacation for the Morgans, but his past continues to haunt them in unexpected ways.

The original film was released in December 2023 to mostly negative reviews, but it proved to be a huge streaming success, premiering as the most-watched film on Apple TV+.

“I am beyond excited to step back into the shoes of Dan Morgan, alongside my brilliant co-stars and with the return of Simon and David,” producer and star Wahlberg said last October.

“Making The Family Plan and seeing it become an instant success with a global audience in the way it did was incredibly rewarding. We can’t wait to work again with our partners at Apple and Skydance on this next chapter for the Morgan family as their European vacation inevitably goes wrong.”

At one point during filming, smoke covered the actors on the upper deck

“I’m thrilled to be back with the Morgans as they tear through Europe in search of the perfect action-packed Christmas for all the family,” added director Simon Cellan Jones.

In the meantime, Mark has been busy helping people affected by the bushfires in Los Angeles, thousands of miles away in the UK.

The 53-year-old actor went to work on Friday Instagram story to reshare a post from his active lifestyle store Municipal – which also includes a coffee shop – and spread the information.

The chain, based in Oceanside, California, is giving away coffee, drinks, baked goods and items until further notice. The store is also opening up its lounge to people who need charging stations and a safe space.

Wahlberg co-founded the clothing and athletic apparel chain in 2019 with Harry Arnett and Stephen Levinson.

In 2022, Wahlberg made the decision to move his family from California to Nevada, where they own a $15.6 million mansion.
