It is not the first time that the star has signed up for the London Marathon. Kirsty ran it back in 2019 with a time of 5 hours and 34 minutes.
The star is a big believer in exercising for her mental health and regularly shares clips of her dedicated workout regimen on social media.
Last month, Kirsty candidly revealed that she was having a breakdown following her divorce from husband Paul Sampson in 2015.
Kirsty said she had sunk into the deep end depression which led to her collapsing on Sky Sports in 2016 as she struggled to juggle her broadcasting duties, Strictly come dance and being a new single mom to her two boys; Jude, 13, and Oscar, 16.
Kirsty said that while it may have seemed like she had it all together, behind the scenes she fell apart and wasn’t enjoying Strictly speaking because of her heartbreak.
‘I was a wreck. I was as thin as a rake. I was running empty, running from dance rehearsals with the beautiful Brendan Cole to Sky Sports to evening rehearsals,” she told her boyfriend of 25 years Gabby Logan in the Mid Point podcast.
“It was beyond exhausting, emotionally, physically.

“There was nothing negative about the show except that I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was like a cauldron of emotion.’
“I had a breakdown. After that I couldn’t handle it so well anymore. I went on for so long,” she added.
Kirsty also briefly touched on “wrong decisions” she made. The TV sports presenter was banned from driving for 18 months after three times the legal limit was set at Eton in 2017, the morning after a night out with friends.
“I made some bad decisions. my decision making wasn’t great,” she said, but said she didn’t want to get into it.
Kirsty went on to talk about the moment she collapsed on Sky Sports. She said, “I had a virus, but I also had a breakdown. I know what was going on in my head, I really wanted to run away. I was just in pain.’
After her divorce, Kirsty was linked to comedian Jack Whitehall, rugby player Danny Cipriani and actor Laurence Fox in quick succession.
Reflecting on trying headlong to “fill the void,” Kirsty said, “I did that classic thing from a relationship and thought great, ‘let’s go party’.”
“You want to meet someone else quickly to fill the void. I was with Sampso for a long time, two children, they are my life. Suddenly I felt like I was on my own.
‘It was just awful. I’m still not great on my own. The person I look back at makes me very sad.
“I was hanging out with the wrong people. I was on the floor [at the end of my relationship]. It took me a long time to build myself up.
“I was horrible to myself. I was sad. I felt I meant nothing. I know I went through a trauma and it took me a while to get back to where I am today.”
After working on herself, Kirsty said she now feels ready to get back into a relationship.
She said, ‘I’d like to meet someone now. I feel like I’m ready to meet someone now. I thought this 18 months ago when I last saw someone.
“I was not in the right place at all. I’m more ready now, I miss company, I’d like someone to catch me off guard. I haven’t had that in a long time.
‘That’s what you long for as a human being. I am very romantic and would love that right now. I’m ready now.’
