Kirsty Gallacher says she is finally ready for a serious relationship

Kirsty Gallacher has revealed that she feels she is finally ready for a serious relationship, seven years after her divorce from former rugby union player Paul Sampson.

The presenter, 47, said that while on a dating app, she hopes to meet someone organically.

It comes after Kirsty was linked to her friend Paddy McGuinness, who is said to have leaned on her for support after his split last year from his wife Christine.

Talking to her friend Gabby Logan about her midpoint podcast, Kirsty said: ‘I would love to meet someone right now. I feel like I’m ready to meet someone now. I thought this 18 months ago when I last saw someone.

‘I wasn’t in the right place at all. I’m smarter now, I miss the camaraderie, I’d love for someone to drive me crazy.

‘I haven’t had that in a long time. You crave that as a person. I am very romantic and I would really love that right now. I’m ready for that right now.

I’m on a dating app right now. I don’t even know how to make it work. I never know if the dating app is for me.’

Gabby urged Kirsty to give the dating app a try as she recounted how a friend of hers is now happily married after a successful breakfast.

The star has been linked to many public faces in the past, including footballer Rio Ferdinand and actor Tim Vincent.

It was after these two that she met and began dating her ex-husband Paul in 1999.

Since her marriage ended, she has been linked to another rugby star, Danny Cipriani in 2016, who reportedly broke up with the presenter due to their 12-year age difference.

During their alleged six-month romance, the pair had only been photographed together once, at the ATP World Tennis Finals in London.

A year later, she was linked to actor Laurence Fox.

The Sky Sports presenter was said to have been in a secret relationship with Billie Piper’s ex-husband for six months, but the couple decided to ‘call it off’ after getting tired of ‘sneaking off’.

said a source Sun at the time: “They had fun while it lasted, but having to sneak around was kind of boring at the end.”

In 2018, it was claimed that Kirsty “had fun” with comedian Jack Whitehall.

Kirsty has split from her boyfriend and former boxing champion Johnny Nelson.

The television personality and TV fight expert, 56, parted ways after their romance fizzled out in 2021.

More recently, she has been linked to former Take Me Out host Paddy.

Mail On Sunday said Kirsty was getting quite cozy with Paddy at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho, central London last month.

One onlooker said of the couple: “They were sitting together, laughing together and looking cosy.”

‘If you were to walk past them, you would surely think they were on a date.

“It definitely looked like they would make a lovely couple.”

Kirsty refused to comment on the dating rumors and her friends downplayed the meeting, saying that she and Paddy are “old friends and old workmates” and that they “try to catch up when he’s in London”.

A Paddy spokesperson did not respond to requests for comment at the time.
