Kirk Cousins surprised a class of students this week, with the Vikings quarterback joking afterward that the students who got him to do so deserved extra points.
Cousins, 35, tore his Achilles tendon in Week 8 against the Packers and is currently recovering from his injury.
And when he met two students from Hope College in Michigan during a recent physical therapy visit, he took them up on their offer to drop by their sports communications class.
“Two students stopped me after my PT session @ Hope… told me they would get extra credit if I came to class so I had to stop by,” he wrote on X in response to a photo of the class visit. ‘Professor Gentile, thank you for having me, but now I give you that extra honor!
Hope College’s official X account shared the photo of the meeting, with a smiling Cousins in the back.
“Thanks for stopping by, @KirkCousins8! Today, our Sports Communications class with Professor Patrick Gentile had an unexpected guest who visited their class while they were in town,” the school wrote.

Cousins will be a free agent at the end of the season after spending the past six seasons in Minnesota.
However, Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said in October after the quarterback’s Achilles injury that “all options are still available with Kirk.”
The team used veterans Josh Dobbs and Nick Mullens in Cousins’ absence, while rookie fifth-round pick Jaren Hall also saw action.
Cousins, who made $30 million last season, has a no-trade clause and also cannot be franchise tagged.
The Vikings will pick 11th overall in this year’s NFL Draft after finishing this season with a 7-10 record.
