Kingswood stabbing: Man charged after woman allegedly killed in alleged domestic violence tragedy

A man has been charged after allegedly stabbing his partner to death in a domestic violence case.

Jeremaia Tuwai, 21, is alleged to have murdered his 21-year-old girlfriend at an apartment on the Great Western Highway in Kingswood, Sydney’s west, about 1.40pm on Monday before fleeing the scene.

Emergency services were called to the unit, where they found the woman with two stab wounds to her chest.

Despite the efforts of emergency services to save her, she died at the scene.

Police launched a manhunt and were able to arrest Tuwai at around 7.10pm on Derby Street in Penrith without incident.

He was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with premeditated murder.

The 21-year-old was refused bail to appear at Penrith District Court today.
