Kings of Leon’s Nathan Followill calls out prestigious Sydney establishment for ‘no tattoo policy’

Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill has been left furious after a prestigious Sydney golf course asked him to cover up his tattoos before entering the venue.

The 43-year-old drummer, who is currently touring Australia with the American rock band, criticized the ‘bucket list course’ on Tuesday for their ‘outdated no tattoo policy’.

“A bucket list golf course in Sydney just made it to my f**k it list,” he ranted on Twitter.

“I was told to cover up my tattoos because of a ‘no tattoo’ policy. Welcome to the 1950s and a great way to grow the game.”

Nathan’s shocked fans supported the rocker and criticized the establishment’s strict policies.

‘Seriously? Wow. That’s hard to understand. Golf is a strange sport!’ one responded.

‘That’s a big f**k it! Sorry Nate, that really sucks,” another agreed.

Nathan went on to joke that he would invite the golf course bosses to his concert in Sydney, but that they wouldn’t be allowed entry if they didn’t have a new tattoo.

“I’ll invite them to our show, but they’ll have to show a new tattoo to get in,” he tweeted.

Although Nathan didn’t mention the location, the Australian Golf Club in Kensington and the picturesque Royal Sydney Golf Club in Rose Bay both require ‘prominent tattoos’ to be covered.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted The Australian Golf Club and Royal Sydney Golf Club for comment.

Royal Sydney Golf Club said: ‘As our course has been closed for grass maintenance since Sunday, this probably happened elsewhere. It would therefore not be appropriate for the club to make a comment about this.’

Kings of Leon is currently touring all over Australia.

The band will perform Saturday in Mildura, Victoria, before heading to Sydney, Queensland, Melbourne and Perth.

The band consists of brothers Caleb, Jared and Nathan Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill.

Their mega hits include Sex Is On Fire and Use Somebody.

Founded in 1999, they achieved tremendous international success, with 12 Grammy Award nominations and four wins.
