King Frederik of Denmark and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands break into laughter on visits to Lyngby and Copenhagen

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and King Frederik of Denmark today jointly visited a high-tech company.

The duo seemed in good spirits as they arrived at Topsoe’s headquarters in Lyngby, Denmark.

It is a high-tech company specializing in decarbonization technologies – removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere – and solutions for the transition to green energy.

King Willem-Alexander and King Frederik appeared to share a joke as the pair smiled as they looked around the building.

The Kings arrived wearing highly polished shoes and similar suits that were both navy blue, while Willem-Alexander donned a crisp white shirt and sky blue patterned tie.

As they looked around Topsoe, the monarchs wore white lab coats over their suits, complete with goggles.

They listened to scientists from the company, which was founded in 1940 and has more than 2,800 employees worldwide.

King Willem-Alexander is currently in Denmark to discuss green initiatives and sustainability, and to expand cooperation between countries on hydrogen infrastructure.

After his visit to Denmark, the Dutch monarch will fly to Norway, accompanied by Sophie Hermans, Minister of Climate Policy and Green Growth.

Willem-Alexander and Frederik were given a tour of Topsoe, where they learned about a new effective form of electrolysis, which refers to the process of using electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen

After the visit, the pair attended a conference at Danish Industry in Copenhagen, where King Willem-Alexander gave a speech.

Then they continue with a cruise that departs from the famous site of Nyhavn, famous for its colorful and characterful houses.

During the boat trip, King Willem-Alexander will speak to stakeholders about decarbonizing ports and the maritime sector.

He will then leave Denmark and fly to larger Bergen and Oslo in Norway on Thursday, where he will meet Crown Prince Haakon.

It comes as Frederick and his wife Queen Mary put on a united front as they announced a major rebrand of their Crown Prince Couple’s Awards last week – a year on from the monarch’s ‘affair’ scandal.

The couple – who have been plagued by rumors of marital problems over the past year – attended the annual awards, which celebrate ‘outstanding achievements and innovative thinking’ in the arts, culture and social work sectors, in Copenhagen.

After a series of solo performances this week, Queen Mary posed for photos with her husband on the red carpet at the VEGA concert hall – before later taking to the stage with him to announce a new chapter in the awards’ history .

During the evening, the royal couple took to the stage to present the awards live on television and also spoke to winners and runners-up afterwards.

The awards were first established in 2004 as a wedding gift for Frederik and Mary from the Bikuben Foundation – an independent organization specializing in creative programs for young people.

At the event, Frederick and Mary announced that the Crown Prince Couple’s Awards will now be known as the Royal Couple’s Awards – to signify their new royal status following their ascension to heaven in January.
