King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia mark their 20th wedding anniversary with new family photos in Madrid

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain have released official family portraits to mark their 20th wedding anniversary.

The sweet images showed the king, 56, and his wife, 51, standing next to their two daughters, Princesses Leonor and Sofia, in front of the new portraits.

On May 22, the couple will commemorate the memory of their 2004 wedding at the Almudena Cathedral in Madrid.

Twenty years have passed and the family still seemed as close as ever despite being shaken up earlier this year shocking allegations from Letizia’s brother-in-law that he had once been romantically linked to her.

The Queen – who wore a surprisingly casual pair of white sneakers – looked as jovial as ever as she posed alongside her husband in the family photos.

In one image, King Felipe stood behind his wife and placed both hands on her shoulders – perhaps to show his unwavering support.

The couple turned their heads away from the camera’s gaze as their two daughters walk toward them in the distance.

Set in an idyllic green setting, the footage appeared to have been shot in the grounds of their home at the Palace of Zarzuela on the outskirts of Madrid.

In a separate image and against the backdrop of the palace, the king wrapped an arm around his beautiful wife as she stood to one side and flashed a smile.

Meanwhile, in a third photo, the royals modeled the role of a perfect, loving family as they beamed next to each other while perched on a wooden bench.

King Felipe and Sophia sat, while Letizia and Leonor stood behind them.

For the portrait, Letizia wore a red woven blazer that she paired with a pair of sparkling white sneakers.

She gave a nod to the pedal pusher trend and completed the ensemble by donning a white pair.

The European royal family is not the only royal couple celebrating an anniversary this week.
