King Charles and Queen Camilla step out for a casual morning stroll on the first day of their historic Australian tour

King Charles and Camilla are pictured taking a walk together on their first morning in Australia.

The royal couple were spotted strolling on the lawns of Admiralty House in Kirribilli on Sydney’s north shore at around 10am this morning, the first day of their five-day visit to Australia.

His Majesty cut a casual yet stylish figure in a blue open-neck shirt paired with a beige suit jacket and cream chinos, while Camilla opted for a dark blue summer dress and matching cardigan.

The Queen looked effortlessly chic as she admired the gardens behind sunglasses, while Charles squinted in the bright morning sunshine.

They were both seen chatting with the king’s bearded personal bodyguard and other members of their security detail.

It is the first time they have been spotted since arriving on Friday evening, where they were greeted in the pouring rain by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and partner Jodie Haydon.

Saturday is planned as a rest day to allow the couple to recover from the long journey, but there is feverish speculation that they may appear at the Everest event at Royal Randwick.

The couple will stay at Admiralty House, the official residence of the Governor-General of Australia, with stunning views across Sydney Harbor to the Opera House.

On Friday evening, the sails of the Opera House were lit up with images from previous royal visits to Australia.

The lighting of the monument was organized despite the New South Wales (NSW) government scrapping a similar proposal for the coronation due to costs.

It comes almost 18 months after NSW Premier Chris Minns dumped the former state government’s plans to light up the venue in May 2023.

This time the government allowed the projection, saying it “consists of a four-minute photomontage of Their Majesties’ previous visits to the State and the Nation.”

The royal visit is the couple’s first trip to Australia since Charles became king in 2022.
