Kim Zolciak requests that estranged husband Kroy Biermann takes a drug test amid divorce

Kim Zolciak has requested that her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, take a drug test during their acrimonious divorce.

The 44-year-old former Real Housewives Of Atlanta star reported witnessing the football player, 37, smoke marijuana, leading her to worry about the safety of their four minor children when they are in his care, according to TMZ.

In legal documents obtained by the publication, Zolciak states she has serious concerns for the well-being of the children and is asking the judge to compel Kroy to submit to a five-panel hair follicle screening.

The filing also asks that Kroy not cut or remove his hair until the screen finishes. Marijuana is not legal in the state of Georgia, where the exes live.

The couple filed for divorce separately almost two weeks ago, with the split quickly turning ugly as they both filed for sole physical custody of their children, while Kroy also filed for sole legal custody.

Together, the Georgia-based couple have four children: Kroy Jagger (KJ), 11, Kash, 10, and twins Kaia and Kane, nine. Zolciak also has two adult daughters, Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21, with an ex.

It’s an unusual move to ask for sole custody, as exes often ask for joint custody to help the divorce go more smoothly.

Kroy has asked for sole legal and physical custody. Kim wants sole physical custody with visitors for Kroy.

Kim and Kroy separated after 11 years of marriage.

A week ago TMZ reported that the duo are already battling it out over who gets what.

It was alleged that Montana native Kroy wants to keep their sprawling, seven-bedroom, $2.5 million mansion in Alpharetta, Georgia, even though it’s reportedly foreclosed because they owe $1.1 million in unpaid taxes .

And Kroy has asked Kim to move immediately. But the publication claimed that they both still live in the house.

An insider with exclusive knowledge of the situation has revealed the cause of that “breakup,” telling DailyMail.com last week that the breakup of the couple’s relationship all started with their financial problems — which Kim “blamed” Kroy for. , despite allowing him to take control of much of their finances for “years”.

“Kroy went above and beyond for Kim,” the source explains. “He was her manager, her assistant, and her husband. She leaned on him for so many years and relied on him for everything. She also took him for granted and blamed him when their financial situation went to shit.”

In the wake of the divorce announcement, it was alleged that Kim and Kroy owe $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, a debt that has piled up after they reportedly failed to pay the IRS in 2013, 2017 and 2018.

TMZ previously claimed that Kroy requested in his divorce filing that Kim “keep all financial records, including all income records, tax records, expense records and more,” according to the site.

Her paperwork said the marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation,” the outlet noted.

The outlet also reported that she had asked for spousal support and for her maiden name to be legally restored.

Apparently, the split had been in the works for a while.

People claimed Kim had been planning to divorce Kroy for a “long time,” and didn’t tell anyone, not even family or friends.

“Money has been a big problem. The million dollar tax [payment] was just way too much pressure on them,” the source said.

Add: “There is no cheating on either side. The money has a lot to do with the split, but there were other factors. He is managing [the family] for a long time, so technically he did have a job. They are not on good terms at the moment.”

Kim and the former Atlanta Falcons NFL star first met in 2010 after crossing paths at the Dancing With Atlanta Stars charity event. They tied the knot a year later, on November 11, 2011.

Once married, Kroy also legally adopted Kim’s daughters from her previous relationships, Brielle and also Ariana, who the reality star shares with ex-husband, Daniel Toce.

The TV personality and former professional NFL player initially purchased the home in 2012 for $880,000.

Their property now costs between $2.5 and $2.6 million, according to the outlet.

The lavish estate has been featured in both the Real Housewives and Kim’s own reality show titled Don’t Be Tardy, which aired for a total of eight seasons.

Truist Bank has been asked to handle the home’s foreclosure, and the action reportedly began in August when the couple failed to pay their $1.65 million mortgage.
