Kim Zolciak and estranged husband Kroy Biermann still live together

Kim Zolciak still lives with her estranged husband Kroy Biermann, even after officially filing for divorce after 11 years of marriage.

The former lovebirds still live at their Georgia home with their four children Kroy Jagger (KJ), 11, Kash, 10, and twins Kaia and Kane, nine, per TMZ.

The shocking divorce news comes amid reports that the couple has been dealing with financial problems, reportedly owing the IRS $1.1. million in unpaid taxes.

The couple’s home in George entered “foreclosure” in February, according to the outlet, but they haven’t moved.

The former Real Housewives of Atlanta reportedly listed her divorce date from the ex-NFL star as April 30, according to TMZ.

She filed the paperwork, stating that the marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation,” the outlet noted.

The star is asking for joint legal custody of their four children and primary physical custody.

The outlet also reported that she had filed for spousal support.

Kim also requested that her maiden name be legally reinstated.

The reason behind their split seems to be primarily their financial problems, according to a source at People.

The insider revealed that Kim has been planning to divorce Kroy for a “long time,” and hasn’t told anyone, not even family or friends.

“The money has been a huge problem. The million dollar tax [payment] was just way too much pressure on them,” the source said.

Add: “There is no cheating on either side. The money has a lot to do with the split, but there were other factors. He is managing [the family] for a long time, so technically he did have a job. They are not on good terms at the moment.”

Kim and the former Atlanta Falcons NFL star first met in 2010 after crossing paths at the Dancing With Atlanta Stars charity event.

They tied the knot a year later, on November 11, 2011.

Once married, Kroy also legally adopted Kim’s daughters from her previous relationships, Brielle, 26, as well as Ariana, 21, who the reality star shares with ex-husband, Daniel Toce.

The break comes just after it was revealed that Kim and Kroy reportedly owe the IRS $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, penalties and interest, according to TMZ.

Kim and Kroy would not have paid in 2013, 2017 and before 2018.

The reality stars also reportedly owe the state of Georgia $15,000 in unpaid taxes as of 2018.

In February, Kim took to social media to brag about her ornate living room, complete with a dazzling chandelier — despite it being in foreclosure.

“This is definitely one of my most favorite rooms, the Hollywood room,” the mother-of-six said in an Instagram video, which rotated through her salon.

She continued, “That chandelier is seven—almost eight feet wide and eight feet high.”

The TV personality then mused on all the “fun” times her family shared in that room before pointing out a shiny gold balloon stuck in the lamp.

Her post comes on the same day a source told People that the reality star is “telling everyone” that the foreclosure is “a misunderstanding” and that it is “being resolved.”

“She’s not moving,” the insider added.

The TV personality and former professional NFL player initially purchased the home in 2012 for $880,000.

Their property now costs between $2.5 and $2.6 million, according to the outlet.

The lavish estate has been featured in both the Real Housewives and Kim’s own reality show titled Don’t Be Tardy, which aired for a total of eight seasons.

Truist Bank has been asked to handle the home’s foreclosure, and the action reportedly began in August when the couple failed to pay their $1.65 million mortgage.

According to TMZ, the five-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom townhouse sits comfortably near the 18th hole of the Manor Golf and Country Club, just north of the bustling city of Atlanta.

The front of the house has a spacious circular driveway and has an inviting appearance with beautiful brickwork on the outside.

During her own reality show Don’t Be Tardy, which first aired in 2012 with the original title Don’t Be Tardy For The Wedding, Kim gave a tour of the mansion.

The 6,900-square-foot home also includes a pool with hot tub, waterfall spa, basketball court, and built-in elevator.

Late last year in November, Kim had denied claims that their Georgia home was auctioned for just $257,000 in an Instagram Stories video, claiming she still owns it and has no plans to sell it anytime soon.

The reality star also claimed that the actual value of her home – located in the town of Alpharetta, Georgia – is $2.5 million, or nearly ten times what it was rumored to be auctioned for.

However, Kim and her husband Kroy paid off their outstanding debts to get their home out of harm’s way. At the time of the foreclosure threat, they reportedly owed $10,567.67. The foreclosure threat was delivered two years after purchasing the home in 2012.

Last year, the couple celebrated their 11th anniversary and opened up about their long-term marriage during an interview E! News.

“If you ask for a secret, lots of sex,” Kim had humorously told the publication, adding, “I think communication is also one of the biggest secrets.”

“Choosing to love that person day in and day out, I think it’s a choice and a lot of times people throw in the towel so quickly.”

Kroy shared that their lives were constantly shown on television, but said, “Whether you’re married on camera or a regular person who’s married, I don’t think there’s any difference.

“And I think when the going gets tough, people don’t want to stay true to their vows and stay true to their partner,” as he later added, “you have to keep your promises that you made to that person when you stood in front of from your friends and family.’

In discussing her daughters Ariana and Brielle, who her husband legally adopted, Kim said emotionally, “They were 8 and 13 when Kroy came into their lives and it’s a pretty spectacular bond they have.”

“They call him daddy and that’s all they know. He is the only father figure they have had in their lives. He’s all they know.’
