Kim Kardashian’s daughter North has harshly criticized her Met Gala look in the preview for next week’s episode of The Kardashians.
In this week’s episode, Kim tried out her unique look – a custom Schiaparelli dress with a whopping 50,000 real pearls – as a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld.
The 43-year-old mother of four – who admitted North scams her friends – initially thought she was getting a rare approval from her eldest, but that turned out not to be the case.
Earlier in the episode, Kim was in New York City for her Met Gala dress fitting, one of the many things on her agenda that day.
“So I have a Met fitting. I work with the Schiaparelli team. It is the most amazing dress made entirely of pearls,” she said.

Kim jokes about the montage, “All we needed was that cat,” referring to Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved cat Choupette who Kim planned to take to the Met as her date.
“When I think of Karl, I think of pearls,” Kim confesses, as she connects on a video call to her daughter North, who is clearly stunned by the dress and says, “I love it.”
Kim is equally baffled and adds, “What? That’s the first time I’ve ever heard you say you love it.’
Kim adds confessionally, “North is usually my biggest critic, and now I got North’s approval, and that’s all I needed.”
As Kim continued her day, happy for North’s rare approval, it seemed that when North saw the dress in person, she sang a different tune.
“It looks beachy and the pearls look fake,” says North, as the designer says, “This is my worst nightmare.”
Although North was seemingly not a fan, Kim revealed to Vogue on the Met Gala red carpet, North still took action and saved the day when many of the 50,000 perals came loose from the dress.
“I told my daughter to take them all, they’re real pearls and she put them in her bag,” Kim said on the red carpet.

She also revealed in that interview that she wanted to wear this dress in honor of Karl Lagerfeld, who was the theme of this year’s Met.
‘I wanted pearls. I thought, “What else is there, Karl?” I always think of the iconic Chanel pearls,” Kim explains.
“So we just wanted to be dripping in pearls,” Kim said of the elegant dress she wore to the Met.
