Kim Kardashian speaks out on the ‘struggle’ of being a parent of a child with a learning difference
Kim Kardashian opens up about the struggles of being a parent of a child with a learning disability.
The reality star — whose daughter North West, 11, previously revealed she was diagnosed with dyslexia — shared a video on her Instagram Stories of her friend Lauren Sánchez, who talks about her children’s book, The Fly Who Flew to Space, on “The View,” in which she opens up about her own struggles with dyslexia as a child.
Kim, 43, wrote alongside the post: “I’m reposting this not because she’s my friend and I love her but because every mother struggling with her child with dyslexia or a learning disability needs to hear that it’s going to be okay.”
Last year, North announced her diagnosis during a TikTok livestream.
Kim’s daughter, who has more than 19 million followers on the social media platform, said: “Guys, I have dyslexia. Do you even know what that is?”

The reality star – whose daughter North West, 11, was diagnosed with dyslexia last year – shared a video on her Instagram Stories telling other parents experiencing the same struggle: ‘Everything is going to be OK’
Kim responded, “Northie, you’re really spilling the tea here,” and later asked her to end the livestream, adding, “you’re just saying way too much. I purposely don’t talk about the things you’re going through.”
North, whose father is controversial rapper Kanye West, previously revealed that she is considering becoming a businesswoman like her parents.
The KUWTK veteran said she already has ambitions to one day take over the family businesses, with her eyes specifically on Yeezy and Skims.
In her first solo interview with iD magazine last year, she said, “One day I want to own Yeezy and Skims and run my own company.”
Until then, she would like to earn some money walking dogs so she can pay for her drawing tools, she said.
She said, “When I’m 13, I want to walk dogs and earn money to buy art supplies because everything is so expensive here.”
North told Vice Media that she is her own biggest style icon. For her, the three words that sum up her existence are: “Blessed, amazing, cool.” Her self-description is: “The best ever.”
Kim’s influence on her was also evident, as North shared that her most prized item of clothing was a “Michael Jackson jacket my mom gave me for Christmas!”
Last year, North revealed her diagnosis during a TikTok livestream, saying, “Guys, I have dyslexia. Do you even know what that is?”
Kim quickly responded to the confession, telling North that she was revealing too much personal information and later asking her to end the livestream.
Following in the footsteps of her famous parents, North appeared on her first solo cover with iD Magazine last year, where she revealed she was interested in becoming an entrepreneur

Although Kim and Kanye split in 2021, they have since reunited amicably and attended North’s basketball games.
Basketball has clearly become a source of joy in the young girl’s life, and her dedication is such that she describes the sport as “not a hobby” but “a lifestyle.”
She enthused that she “loves basketball so much” and said her fondest memory was “when I first tried basketball, because I was so bad. So I remember those memories and I’m like, ‘Ooh, now I’m so good,’ I’ve gotten so much better.”
