Gypsy-Rose Blanchard thanked Kim Kardashian for meeting her and listening to her story, despite it being ‘too controversial’.
Kim, 43, spoke personally with Gypsy, 32, who was recently released from prison after pleading guilty to the second-degree murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, in 2016.
The reality star, who is known for her passion for prison reform, spoke to Gypsy, who recently revealed she is pregnant with her first child, on an upcoming episode of The Kardashians.
In a new clip shared by Hulu on Wednesday, the Munchausen by Proxy survivor can be seen thanking Kim for the conversation.
“I’m giving you a huge compliment right now because I think a lot of people are afraid to bring me up as a topic,” she told Kim.

“Really?” asked the mother of four, who, in addition to her trademark glamour, also wore a comfortable brown leather jacket with a sherpa collar.
“Because I’m too controversial,” Gypsy clarified.
Kim then hilariously admitted that she herself has her share of controversies. She said, “Mmm, girl.”
To which Gypsy responded, “So I give you a big thumbs up for being like, ‘Okay, I’m going to do this now. Like this is going to happen.'”
Looking beyond the headlines, the SKIMS founder reveals she wasn’t motivated by the sensational aspects of Blanchard’s case. Instead, she was driven by a belief in Gypsy’s ability to “make a big difference.”
“I’ve been following your case for a long time. So I wouldn’t want to come and, you know, actually meet someone who I think could make an impact just for the sensationalism of the case.”
‘I realize that you can make a big difference. Because you can really put into words what you’ve been through. And how you get through it.’
Kanye West’s ex-wife also wanted to know what Gypsy ate for her first meal after getting out of prison.
“I’m giving you a huge compliment right now because I think a lot of people are afraid to touch me as a subject,” she told Kim, who is known for her passion for prison reform.
Kim then hilariously admitted that she’s not one to shy away from controversy herself, when she joked, “Mmm, girl.”

In May, a preview clip for the fifth season of the reality show on Hulu shows Gypsy opening a door and meeting Kim.
Kim greets her with a hug and says, “Hi Gypsy,” who says “hi” back before Kim’s mother Kris Jenner says, “Welcome back to season five.”
The moment came as a surprise to fans of the show, as Kim had not revealed that she and Gypsy had met in real life.
Gypsy made worldwide headlines almost a decade ago after she pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of her mother, Dee Dee.
In December, she was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri after serving eight and a half years, and immediately became famous on social media.
Gypsy is eager to work with Kim and has previously indicated that she would like to work with her on prison reform.
After Kim included Gypsy’s 2017 documentary Mommy Dead And Dearest on her list of must-see true crime series, Gypsy responded, “Maybe we should join forces to make real change within the justice system.”
Kim has worked in the area of prison reform, advocating for early release of prisoners. She was involved in convincing President Donald Trump to support the First Step Act, which implemented major reforms to the U.S. prison system.
Since leaving prison, Gypsy has undergone a dramatic makeover. Her latest nose job was performed by Dr. Jeffrey J. Joseph in early April.
It comes a day after Gypsy announced she is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend and ex-fiancé Ken Urker, 31
While incarcerated, Gypsy developed a relationship with Urker, who in 2019 entered into a dialogue with the then-inmate through a “letter of support” he wrote after watching the HBO documentary Mommy Dead And Dearest.
She was previously married to Ryan Anderson, 37, while still incarcerated. She announced she had filed for divorce from the special education teacher on April 8; Seen in January
Gypsy spoke to People in early April and said she was going through a “personal transformation.”
She told the outlet, “I’m going through a personal transformation right now and that includes a physical transformation.”
And although she had previously indicated that she no longer wanted to be ‘famous’, she now seemed ready to appear in front of the cameras again.
“Wish me luck with my surgery and watch the entire series this summer on Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up,” she said.
The truth behind Gypsy’s life was heartbreaking and strange at the same time. Shortly after her mother’s murder, it was discovered that the then-teenager had been a victim of Munchausen by Proxy for most of her life.
Throughout her daughter’s life, her mother invented serious illnesses to gain the sympathy of others, such as leukemia and muscular dystrophy – illnesses she herself never had.
Dee Dee put her daughter in a wheelchair and shaved her head, among other ailments imposed on her.
On Tuesday, Gypsy announced that she is pregnant with her first child with her boyfriend and ex-fiancé Ken Urker, 31. She shared the news on her YouTube channel.
“I’m 11 weeks pregnant,” she said in the video. “Ken and I are expecting our very first child in January 2025.”
“We’re both very excited. This wasn’t planned at all, it was totally unexpected.”
Blanchard was moved to tears as she said she wants to give her child “everything she ever wanted to have when she was little.”
