Kim Kardashian joins the new American Horror Story season

Oh Ryan Murphy – you sure keep us on our toes.

The latest season of American horror story may be the maker’s biggest curveball to date. First, the show is written and run by just one writer (not Murphy), Halley Feiffer. For another, it’s based on an upcoming book, marking it first American horror story season based on something not in the imagination of Ryan Murphy. And for another, it will star Kim Kardashian.

Yes, you read that right. Kim Kardashian will participate AHS regular Emma Roberts in the show’s 12th season. A new eerie teaser reveals their names, along with a ghostly rendition of “Rock-a-Bye Baby.”

“Kim is one of the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” Murphy told the Hollywood reporter. “Emma [Roberts] and I’m excited about collaborating with this true power in culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish, and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we’ve ever done.

Subtitled Delicatecomes the upcoming season from Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel Sensitive state – which is described on the blurb as a “feminist update of Rosemary’s baby.We don’t yet know how much the new season will lean on the novel.

American horror story first premiered in 2011. Over 11 seasons, the show has introduced a complex web of mythology, including ghosts, zombies, witches, and aliens. But last season, Murphy shrugged off the supernatural and turned for a surprisingly gripping dive into the AIDS crisis. AHS: NYC was remarkably restrained American horror story which grew out of a fear of being a strange individual in the 1980s – with just a touch of the supernatural to propel it along. It ended up being AHS’ best season in a long time – and maybe even one of the best in the show’s history.

Delicate will premiere on FX and Hulu sometime this summer.
