Kim Kardashian and the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan may be left out of the 2023 Met Gala… after they all attended for the first time last year

Kim Kardashian and her famous siblings may not be on the guest list for the upcoming Met Gala 2023.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who oversees the guest list for the annual celebration of fashion, has apparently decided on a Kardashian-Jenner free party, a source said. page six.

The 2022 event marked the first time that all of the sisters – Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, Kendall and Kylie – were invited, as well as their mother Kris Jenner.

Vogue did not initially comment on whether Kim and her sisters would walk the red carpet this year.

A source close to the family assured that it was false that the reality stars had not been invited to the Met Gala.

Despite claims that the Kardashian-Jenners had not been invited, sources said it was unclear if any would choose to attend even with an invitation.

Last year was the first time Kim’s sisters Kourtney and Khloé attended the ceremony, but Khloé claimed she had other opportunities to walk the red carpet.

In November of last year, the Revenge Body star claimed on her family’s Hulu reality show The Kardashians that she had been a guest “in the past” but “just opted not to go.”

I don’t really like red carpets. I think I have made that very clear,” she said.

At the time, she said it was Met Gala veteran Kim who convinced her to join the rest of the family at the A-list party.

Wintour’s alleged new selectivity comes after the event has come under fire in recent years for inviting a lower tier of celebrities, including some influential people.

Kim first attended the Met Gala in 2013 with her then-husband Kanye West, later admitting it was a miserable experience for her.

She arrived heavily pregnant in a jubilant floral dress, but was savagely attacked on social media for her appearance, which many users compared to an old-school sofa pattern.

She didn’t let that stop her though, and has returned every year since as her public profile has only grown in stature.

Kim showed off fashion legend Thierry Mugler’s “first design in 20 years” when she arrived at the 2019 ceremony in a shimmering nude-colored dress that hugged her curves and featured dangling crystals that looked like raindrops.

After skipping 2020 when the event was canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, she returned in 2021 with her edgiest look to date: an all-black Balenciaga jumpsuit with a long train and a black mask that covered her entire head. .

The bondage-style look was a far cry from the more traditional glamor she showed off at last year’s ceremony when she wore the dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy.

However, the move outraged some conservationists who thought the dress would be damaged if she wore it, though there have since been full-blown claims as to whether or not it was damaged in any way.
