A mother-of-three who founded Britain’s most glamorous sex party brand is looking to raise money to expand her business across the world.
Emma Sayle, 46, who attended the same Downe House School in Berkshire as Kate Middleton and was spotted with the future Princess of Wales during her brief split from Prince William in 2007, founded London-based Killing Kittens 20 years ago.
The company, which claims to enable women to ‘feel in control’ and ‘explore their sexuality’, has become a staple of London’s nightlife.
Now Sayle has plans to expand the company abroad.
Killing Kittens is looking to raise £500,000 from private investors through crowdfunding platform Seedrs – giving the company a valuation of £10.5 million – according to documents seen by The Mail on Sunday.
The money will be used to fund a permanent venue, cruise ship tours, a gay venture and events in LA, Lisbon, Venice and Paris.
Foreign ambitions: Killing Kittens claims women ‘feel like they’re in control’
The company has seen its popularity rise since the end of the pandemic, with 12,000 people attending its events last year.
Turnover rose to £1.9 million this year, compared to £1.6 million last year.
Sayle said, “Many people were stuck inside during the pandemic and thought to themselves, ‘I only have one life. I’m in a stale relationship, let’s explore and do something hedonistic.’ ‘
Expansion plans: Emma Sayle
Killing Kittens hosts luxury events including oysters and champagne at grand houses and Mayfair clubs, often requiring guests to wear formal attire.
Guest lists are vetted and men are prohibited from approaching women they do not know; instead, women are making the progress.
It plans to move into cruises, with a maiden voyage planned for 2026.
Sayle says this has already generated £350,000 in room revenue in the first eight weeks of sales. ‘We stop for tourist excursions, do some wine tasting – all the usual stuff. Then there are striptease tutorials and sex parties in the evenings.’
The group is looking for its first dedicated location in London to save costs.
Sayle recently launched a gay and bisexual men’s business called KK Homme.
She told the MoS that the company will explore options over the next 18 months, including a possible sale or flotation on the alternative investment market.
