‘Killer’ yoga teacher Kaitlin Armstrong ‘TRAINED for her failed escape for months’ and wore thermal pants under to prison jumpsuit in bid to disguise herself as an inmate

Alleged ‘killer’ yoga teacher Kaitlin Armstrong trained ‘vigorously’ for her failed prison escape, wearing thermals under her prison uniform in an attempt to conceal her identity.

The former yogi, 35, has been spotted exercising regularly despite reportedly suffering a leg injury while in the Travis County Correctional Complex in Texas.

An affidavit says Armstrong’s intense workout was all documented on security footage at the facility before her failed breakout earlier this week.

Armstrong was also wearing thermal pants under her county-issued black and white striped uniform pants – which she removed during the foot chase to reveal her identity as an inmate, the affidavit indicated.

Armstrong is accused of fatally shooting cyclist Moriah Wilson, who was dating Armstrong’s boyfriend Colin Strickland, in Austin, Texas, in May 2022.

Authorities said she got a nose job and dyed her hair brown after fleeing the US. She used her sister’s passport to leave the country and used various aliases while on the run

After the murder, Armstrong fled to Costa Rica where she had plastic surgery – probably a nose job – before she was captured 43 days later.

The affidavit summarized: ‘Due to recent activity of vigorous exercise, and complaints of injury to secure an off-site medical appointment, and restrictions on leg restraints, Affiant has reason to believe and believes that inmate Armstrong planned to escape from custody.’

The escape came well after Armstrong was offered a plea deal that would have shaved decades off her sentence – which she rejected.

Armstrong now faces even more time in prison for her attempt to escape from correctional officers on Wednesday.

Cell phone footage captured the moment the ex-yoga teacher broke free from two corrections officers after visiting a doctor’s office in Austin as they walked her back to the car Wednesday.

After the escape, a search of Armstrong’s cell found a metal pin and dental floss. The metal pin “broke off and provided a solid thin piece of metal that could likely be used to manipulate a handcuff to be removed,” the affidavit said.

The video shows her brazen bid for freedom in her eye-catching black and white striped prison-issue jumpsuit as officers chase her up a hill and stumble before Armstrong appears to jump over a fence.

Police said she drove around a nearby neighborhood for about 10 minutes before she was caught.

This is not Armstrong’s first attempt to run away from the charges she faces for Moriah Wilson’s murder.

The accused killer fled Texas after she was initially questioned and traveled to Costa Rica.

Armstrong’s boyfriend Colin Strickland, 35, has since admitted that he did, in fact, have an affair with Wilson, saying the two had dinner together the night she was killed.

She pleaded not guilty to the murder of ‘Mo’ Wilson – the competitive gravel and mountain bike racer from Vermont.

Wilson, who lived in California at the time, was in Austin, Texas, for a race and joined Strickland for a swim at the Deep Eddy pool before the secret couple headed to a burger joint across the street for dinner.

Armstrong, who allegedly followed Wilson, pulled up in her SUV near the apartment where Strickland dropped off his dinner date.

Armstrong reportedly tracked down Wilson using the app for cyclists and runners, Strava.

Search warrants revealed she visited a gun range with her sister before the murder, and $450,000 was given by Strickland, who also admitted to buying two firearms for himself and Armstrong between late 2021 and early 2022 has.

She will likely face additional charges for trying to escape. She is currently being held in the Travis County Jail on a $3.5 million bond.

Court records show that three subpoena applications have already been filed by the state after the attempted escape for information from St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, Travis County Sheriff’s Office and St. David’s Austin Medical Center.

Her jury trial is scheduled to begin on October 30. She faces up to 99 years in prison if convicted.
