Killer socialite Rebecca Grossman, 61, appeals conviction for murdering two young brothers in booze-fueled hit and run as she is moved from hellhole prison to women’s facility to serve 15-years

Rebecca Grossman has appealed her murder conviction for mowing down two young brothers as she was transferred to California State Prison to begin her sentence, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The convicted killer struck Mark Iskander, 11, and brother Jacob, 8, while speeding after a drunken lunch with her lover on the evening of September 29, 2020.

A jury in February found her guilty of two felony counts each of first-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter, and one misdemeanor count of hit-and-run resulting in death.

The socialite was sentenced on June 10 to 15 years to life behind bars, but could be eligible for parole in seven to eight years.

After being housed at the infamous Twin Towers prison in Downtown LA, Grossman was transferred Wednesday to Central California Women’s Facility, the largest women’s prison in the state, DailyMail.com has learned.

Sources said Grossman was placed on suicide watch for the first few days she was locked up in Twin Towers after a jury found her guilty of two murder charges in February.

The Twin Towers prison includes a “correctional treatment center,” or medical unit, where female inmates and inmates with mental health problems are housed.

In a shocking moment at her sentencing, Grossman admitted that she had contemplated suicide and wished God had provided her with life.

“He knows that if I had seen anyone, I would have thrown myself against the wall,” a hysterical and sobbing Grossman told the Iskander family. ‘I wanted God to take my life. I don’t know why God didn’t take my life.

She continued, “I wish He would take my life. And if I could give my life right now and say to God, “Can you please bring Mark and Jacob back,” I would tell God to take my life. I’m so sorry!’

Grossman, who co-founded a renowned burn center with her plastic surgeon husband, Dr. Peter Grossman, went from glitzy galas and fundraisers with Hollywood elites to sleeping in LA County’s largest jail, known for its “barbaric” and overcrowded conditions .

Court records viewed by DailyMail.com show Grossman filed her notice of appeal on the day of her sentencing, and the court officially filed charges Thursday.

Nancy Iskander, mother of the two murdered boys, denounced the socialites’ verdict, claiming the judge treated their deaths as “one child” despite “two different lives” having been lost.

The heartbroken mother said she wants Grossman to show remorse for her sons’ deaths.

“My plan is to visit her in prison in a few months or maybe a year, and I will ask her that question directly. I’ll say, “Can you say, ‘I’m sorry I killed them?’ This allows me to forgive because I need to process what she did,” she told Fox News.

During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence that the data recorder in Grossman’s white Mercedes showed she was traveling at up to 80 mph (130 km/h) and hit the brakes, slowing her to 45 mph (73 km/h) less than two seconds before impact.

After fatally striking the siblings, who had been standing in a crosswalk, Grossman fled the scene.

Nancy Iskander, mother of the two slain boys, blasted the judge for the lenient sentence and said she plans to visit Grossman in prison so she can see if she is remorseful.

Before the judge handed down her sentence, Grossman told the court she did not flee the scene and instead stood by her car for 20 minutes and was in a “state of denial.”

Prosecutors have repeatedly said the socialite has shown no remorse for her crimes, and Superior Court Judge Joseph Brandolino called Grossman’s actions “reckless and unquestionably negligent” during the sentencing.

Earlier in June, a judge rejected the child killer’s bid to have her murder convictions overturned and a new trial.

The wealthy socialite’s lawyers argued that she was entitled to a retrial because prosecutors presented “insufficient” evidence to find her guilty and “misled” the jury during her trial four months ago.

But Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Joseph Brandolino rejected Grossman’s pleas on June 3, telling the court in Van Nuys, California, that he found prosecutors had proven beyond a reasonable doubt that she had acted with “implied malice.”
