Killer mom shot bullets into her wedding dress, left warped message for ex, then got her son to watch cartoons in a ditch as she shot him dead before killing herself

A mother taunted her ex-husband and made her son ‘say goodbye to daddy’ on camera before shooting him and herself in the head.

Savannah Kriger, 32, and her son Kaiden, 3, were reported missing Monday after she left work early to pick him up from daycare for a doctor’s appointment.

They were found dead early Tuesday morning, 19 hours later, in a drainage ditch in Tom Slick Park in San Antonio, Texas, of gunshot wounds.

Kriger was scheduled to meet her ex-husband Brian Kriger at a custody hearing the same day.

Researchers have pieced together Kriger’s final hours as she destroyed two homes in a gun rampage, took her son with her and gloated to Brian on the phone that he would never see him again.

Kriger left work at 12:49 a.m. in her white 2023 Lincoln Aviator and drove to Brian’s house, 7.7 miles away. while he was at work. and destroyed it.

At 1:14 p.m., she drove 27 miles home, where she shot holes in her wedding dress and two wedding portraits that she displayed on her bed.

Her next stop was Kaiden’s daycare, where she arrived at 2:32 PM and checked him out, which took a total of 10 minutes.

Four minutes later, she left Brian an alarming two-minute, thirteen-second message on FaceTime while he was still at work.

“You don’t have anything to go home to now, really. You have nothing in the Dover’s Den house either, and in the end you will have nothing at all,” she said.

As Brian rushed home and called 911 to report a criminal mischief complaint at his house and found it vandalized, Kriger made her last ride.

At 3:19 p.m., while Brian was taking pictures of the damage she had done to his house, Kriger tried to call him again, but he did not answer.

She sent him one last text: “Say goodbye to your son.”

Two minutes later, she tried to FaceTime him again, without success, and instead recorded a 21-second video of her and Kaiden’s final moments.

“She and Kaiden appear to already be in the drainage ditch where their bodies would eventually be found. Savannah instructs Kaiden to say goodbye to dad,” said Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar.

After Kaiden said goodbye to Brian on camera, not knowing it would be the last time, Kriger kissed him and apologized for his father not being there.

The last activity on Kriger’s phone was looking up children’s cartoons at 3:29 p.m.

Nothing explicit was recorded on the phone, but detectives believed the video showed the couple’s last moments alive.

As the hours passed, the family became concerned because they could not contact Kriger. All calls to voicemail and location services on her phone were disabled.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office was called to her home for a welfare check around 6 p.m., but were unable to enter the home.

Officers eventually contacted a family member, who let them inside.

“There they found evidence that raised concerns, both for the child and for Savannah,” Salazar said.

An Amber Alert was issued that same day. Police suspected Kriger, who was involved in an ongoing custody dispute with the child’s father, had kidnapped him.

Authorities traced Kriger’s car to Tom Slick Park off State Highway 151 East following phone signals.

A search of the park began Monday evening but had to be suspended as night fell.

On Tuesday morning, police continued to comb the area and found two bodies near a drainage service. A firearm was also found at the scene of the accident.

Salazar said Kriger and Kaiden appeared to have left the SUV and walked a “considerable distance” from the park to the ditch where the bodies were located.

One day before the bodies were discovered, an Amber Alert was issued for three-year-old Kaiden. That alert named Kriger as his suspected kidnapper
