KIIS FM radio host Lauren Phillips announces her engagement to multimillionaire boyfriend Paul O’Brien after surprise proposal in Mykonos: ‘I thought he was joking’
KIIS FM presenter Lauren Phillips announced live on-air on Monday her engagement to multi-millionaire partner Paul O’Brien.
The TV and radio host, 41, shared the exciting news with her co-host Jase Hawkins and spoke about the surprise proposal in Mykonos.
O’Brien runs the high-end aviation charter group AVMIN and has several celebrity clients, including Matt Damon, his wife Luciana Barroso, Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky.
We went on holiday to Europe. We were in Rome just the two of us for a few days and I thought if he proposed, it would be just the two of us,” she began.
‘Then we went to Mykonos and met all our friends and it turned out I was the only one who didn’t know about it. He asked in front of all our friends. I had no idea and the next moment he was on one knee.’

The brunette beauty said the public proposal was such a surreal experience that she thought Paul was teasing her at first.
“I guess I thought he was joking. It was an out of body experience. I don’t think I even looked at the ring. I just hugged him and cried and then we all stood up and celebrated.”
She couldn’t contain her joy as she discussed the ultra-romantic proposal.
Everyone was like, “you didn’t say yes,” and I’m like, “of course it’s a yes!” We then called my family who was home at the time. He asked my father. He’s a gentleman,’ she added.

The notoriously private couple have been dating since early 2020 and now live together in Byron Bay.
Paul previously dated former Sunrise host Samantha Armytage from 2018 – 2019.
Lauren started dating Paul when she lived in Melbourne in early 2020 at the start of the Covid pandemic.

But when Victoria went into lockdown in July of that year, she moved to Byron Bay.
There she reportedly moved in with Paul while continuing to work as a weather presenter for Weekend Today – a role she has since given up to focus on her radio career.
Before her relationship with Paul, Lauren was married to TV producer Lachlan Spark for a year, and they confirmed their split in December 2018.
