Controversial pop culture figure Kid Rock said during a conversation with Joe Rogan last week that he supports the idea that Israel would kill “30-40 thousand” Palestinians in one go if the Israeli hostages are not returned soon.
During an appearance on Rogan’s hugely popular podcast, Kid Rock, a musician and more recently a pseudo-political figure, shared his war philosophy with the host and audience:
“The only wars we won were damn wars where we were the most brutal bastards in the world,” he said. “And I don’t disagree with what Israel is doing.”
“It’s like they just have to go in and say, you know what? We want our hostages back. If we don’t get them back, the clock starts now,” he said, sharing his thoughts on how the IDF should proceed with the challenge of ensuring the return of the remaining 134 hostages.
He continued the profanity-laden tirade: “And for 24 fucking hours we’re gonna start bombing motherfuckers and killing fucking civilians thirty, forty thousand times. So you citizens better pack up and get these damn bastards. And you’re going against Hamas. You damn it, go against them. We’re not playing any damn games with you.’
More than once during the segment, Rogan pushed back against Rock’s outlandish claims about how wars should be fought.
“You’re not supposed to pick civilian targets,” he said. “That’s actually a war crime.”
“You can’t wage war like that!” Kid Rock said.
“But you’re not supposed to pick civilian targets,” Rogan repeated.
In the months since the outbreak of the ongoing conflict in the region, Rogan has many times criticized the actions of radical Palestinian terrorists in Gaza, who continue to hold hostage more than a hundred innocent Israelis captured during the murderous attack on October 7.
During the conversation, Rock pointed out the oft-made point that Hamas is “hiding behind civilian targets.”
Rogan agreed, but added that “if you’re someone born in Palestine, you suck. You are under their (Hamas) control. It’s not your fault.’
Rock agreed, saying those people are “crazy… by birth.”
“Those are not our enemies,” Rogan said, again suggesting that civilians should not be targeted.
Musician Kid Rock told Joe Rogan that Israel will have to wipe out tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians if the hostages are not returned
More than once during the segment, Rogan pushed back against Rock’s bizarre feelings
Online critics were quick to target Rock for his radical stance, and Rogan for giving Rock a platform.
‘This is revealing. First of all, Joe Rogan very nunchallengingly platforms this pro-genocidal screed from said pop influencer, effectively mainstreaming ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity in #Gaza.
“Second, Kid Rock presents himself as a genocidal maniac. Neither Rogan nor Rock would ever be censored because of this depraved circle of celebrity. These two showed that they were doing well…’ wrote pro-Palestinian journalist Patrick Henningsen.
Journalist Whitney Webb shared similar sentiments, but also ignored the moments during the interview when Rogan backed out.
‘Kid Rock evolved into Neocon Rock. IIt’s unfortunate that the country’s most popular podcast posted these comments without any pushback,” she wrote.
‘Sure. Kid Rock, so to speak“Israel would have to kill civilians in Gaza by ’30-40,000′ if the hostages are not released within 24 hours,” wrote the popular X news account Breaking911.
Others called the tirade “unhinged” and “extreme.”
