Australian-born former Socceroo star James Holland has sold his investment property in Sydney’s Bondi Beach.

The 35-year-old champion had listed the vintage two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment for sale earlier this month for $1.2 million.

It was originally going to go under the hammer at auction on June 30.

But according to Real Estate.comthe charming Art Deco apartment was purchased on Tuesday for an undisclosed amount.

Holland, whose professional soccer career has been based in Europe since 2017, had purchased the cozy sprawl for $950,000 for 2017.

Before the newly updated apartment hit the market, it was renting for an eye-watering $825 per week.

The apartment is located right opposite the famous Bondi Beach, 7km from the CBD, and is one of only 12 in the block which was built in the 1920s.

Much of the atmosphere of the classic Old World design has been retained, including the wooden finishes and Art Deco features.

Meanwhile, the apartment complex offers residents use of a beautiful roof terrace with panoramic views of surrounding Bondi.

Holland, who plays in midfield for Austrian Club Austria Wien, rose to fame after joining Newcastle Jets in 2007.

A year later he made his debut for the Socceroos against Singapore and later played with the Aussies against Ghana.

He moved to Europe in 2009 to play in the highest professional league with the Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.

The Netherlands first played for his current club in 2011.

After stints in Australia, at Adelaide United and in China, the Netherlands returned to the Netherlands.

Since 2023 he has been playing for his current team Austria Wien again.
