Manuel Neuer has been ranked seventh on a list of the best Bundesliga goalkeepers this season after a difficult start to the campaign for the Bayern Munich star.
Neuer has been Bayern’s first-choice goalkeeper for over a decade and has been widely recognized as one of the best goalkeepers in the world during this period.
However, he hasn’t been at his best this season, keeping just four clean sheets in Germany’s top flight, and this has played against him, with Kicker, through BuliNewsplacing six goalkeepers above him in his classification.

Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel has been ranked the best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga so far this season by Kicker.
The German midfielder has put Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel at the top of the list, with Borussia Monchengladbach’s Yann Sommer taking second place and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp completing the top three.
Marvin Schwabe (Koln), Koen Casteels (Wolfsburg) and Mark Flekken (Freiburg) are also on the list ahead of Neuer.
Trapp and Schwabe are both German, which means Neuer hasn’t even been considered the best goalkeeper in his own country by Kicker this season.
The 36-year-old still managed to retain his place in goal for Germany at the World Cup, but the tournament was disastrous for Hansi Flick’s men.
Neuer also struggled at the World Cup as Germany were knocked out in the group stage.
Neuer is ruled out for the remainder of the season after breaking his leg while skiing
The 2014 champions suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against Japan in their opening game, and despite picking up four points in their next two games against Spain and Costa Rica, they were knocked out of the group stage on goal difference.
This was the second consecutive World Cup in which Germany had failed to reach the knockout rounds, and Neuer conceded five goals in Qatar.
His end of the year went from bad to worse when he broke his leg while skiing after Germany’s elimination.
Neuer has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, leaving him unable to improve his Kicker ranking in the new year.
