Kholo Creek tragedy: Teen found at Mount Crosby waterhole after he failed to resurface from a swim
The body of a teenager has been found at a popular watering hole after he failed to resurface following a dip with a group of friends.
Emergency services were called to Kholo Creek at Mount Crosby, near Ipswich west of Brisbane, about 10.30am on Thursday after reports the boy had failed to re-emerge from the water.
Swift water rescue crews, along with specialist divers from Queensland Police, desperately tried to search for the boy.
His body was found by emergency services early Thursday afternoon.

The boy was swimming in the creek with his friends before the incident.
The teen's family and friends heard screaming and crying after the rescue attempt was completed, The Courier Mail reports.
Earlier, the Queensland Ambulance Service told Daily Mail Australia that another person with serious injuries was assessed by paramedics after they rushed to the scene.
Several users took to Facebook to express their condolences to the boy's loved ones.
“Prayers and thoughts with his family and friends at this time,” one user wrote.
'So sad. Just terrible [and] so close to the Christmas prayer [and] thoughts of family [and] friends,” said another user.
“Rest in peace young man.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
