Khloe Kardashian posted a touching tribute to the late mother of Tristan Thompson on Monday, vowing to protect the NBA star’s special needs brother, Amari, who requires 24-hour care.
Tristan’s mother, Andrea Thompson, tragically passed away after suffering a heart attack at her home on January 5th.
Khloe, 38, recently accompanied Tristan, 31, to Andrea’s funeral on January 14, flying to their hometown of Toronto with her sister, Kim Kardashian, mother Kris Jenner and rapper Drake.

Captioning a slideshow of poignant images, Khloe wrote a lengthy tribute: “I’ve been avoiding this… Avoiding accepting that this is real. I have so much to say but nothing at all… I have so many emotions and I still feel numb.
‘Life can be brutally unfair at times and this has been one of the most difficult times in many of our lives. But at the same time, I feel blessed to be lucky to have had someone who makes saying goodbye so incredibly difficult.
“So hard that I choose not to say goodbye forever because it’s something I can’t comprehend.” Goodbyes forever are something I don’t believe in. I KNOW I’ll see you again.
‘I know I will hear your sweet voice and contagious laugh again. I know I’ll get to feel that hug from you. I will see you again with the many who have gone before you whom I miss, love and cherish desperately. So, I choose to say that until I see you again in heaven, I miss you and will continue to miss you more and more each day.

The powerful Kardashian tribute continued: “I know you are with our Lord and Savior. I know you’re rejoicing up there. Dancing and singing and probably yelling “who does that!!” because we are crying for your loss.
‘At the same time, I know that you never wanted to leave your children. They are your whole world. They will learn to live with a hole in their hearts because they are warriors just like their warrior mommy.
“Just know,” he wrote, “I promise Amari will be perfectly fine.” We will all take care of him, help him and protect him. Your boys will be fine because they have their Guardian Angel by their side.’
Khloe went on to quote John 16:22 from the Bible: “So with you: now is your time of pain, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.”

Tristan Thompson is the eldest of Andrea’s four children.
His youngest son, 16-year-old Amari, suffers from epilepsy, which led Tristan to establish the Amari Thompson Fund in 2013.
In an interview with nbc Last year, Tristan opened up about his beloved younger brother and how his condition has motivated the NBA star.
“Everyone has their motivation,” Thompson said. ‘For me, he is my brother and my family. My mom has also had to sacrifice herself every day. She has had to take care of a child basically 24 hours. That takes her away from her own life and freedom.
He added: ‘Most parents who have kids in the NBA, their parents can go to Las Vegas or Atlantic City and go to the islands. For her, it’s not always the same. I use that as my driving force to try to make life easier for both of them.’
Khloe and Tristan have remained on good terms since the end of their romantic relationship, amicably raising four-year-old daughter True and their baby girl, who was born via surrogate last year in July.
