In 2021, Kim Kardashian addressed past accusations of Blackfishing when she wore her hair in braids and cornrows.

Kardashian speaks with playwright Jeremy O. Harris in an extensive interview iD magazinesaid she would “never do anything to appropriate any culture” in her style, which is sometimes influenced by her eldest daughter, North, who is biracial.

“Honestly, a lot of it is because my daughter asks us to do matching hair,” the reality TV icon said.

Kardashian explained how she addressed the issue with North with appropriate candor.

“I’ve had conversations with her like, ‘Hey, maybe this haircut would suit you better and not me,'” she said.
