Khamzat Chimaev appears to have made peace with Team Khabib over dinner after his mindless brawl with Abubakar Nurmagomedov at UFC 280.
After Islam Makhachev’s impressive win against Charles Oliveira on Saturday, Chimaev sparked a chaotic row with Khabib’s cousin during the post-fight speeches, prompting security to intervene when the blows began to fly.
The bizarre altercation came after the pair appeared to share a friendly conversation and embrace after Makhachev’s triumph.

But it seems Chimaev has now resolved his issues with Team Khabib as both parties were pictured and filmed on Abubakar’s Instagram as they were breaking bread over dinner.
Khabib said: ‘What happened yesterday does not show us well. Neither I nor Khamzat nor Abubakar.
“To tell you the truth, we’re tired of this nonsense. Here we are gathered as brothers. We spoke to each other and we apologized to each other.
“I hope that in the future we will only come together and fight for good reasons.”

The reason for the outside-the-cage brawl remains unclear, although Abubakar posted an online message warning Chimaev about his conduct ahead of UFC 280.
It said, “Not long ago in America you sat at the same table as us, trained in the same gym, went to the mosque together and called us brothers. Now that you’re writing, you’re tearing someone up. Yes, I agree, everyone has the right to express their opinion, but be careful with your statements.’
It remains to be seen how authorities in Abu Dhabi and the UFC plan to punish Chimaev and Abubakar after the incident this weekend.
