A KFC worker has been caught standing on a kitchen countertop without shoes to clean equipment.
The photo was taken at a KFC in Queensland by a customer who raised concerns about the store’s hygiene practices.
According to 7News, the staff member was seen sitting on the counter without shoes while cleaning the cooking equipment, which appears to be filled with chicken.
A KFC spokesperson confirmed that the employee did not follow hygiene practices in accordance with the fast food chain’s standards.
The spokesperson confirmed that KFC would launch an investigation into the store.
“KFC is committed to ensuring our food preparation and hygiene processes meet and exceed Australian standards, including Australian occupational health and safety requirements, to keep our customers and employees safe,” the spokesperson said.
‘We expect every restaurant to meet these standards and are investigating the incident with the franchisee and management team.
“Actions will be taken to ensure our high standards are met in the future.”
