Furious Kevin Spacey takes aim at Channel 4 documentary which will probe new sex allegation claims from several men: Actor, 64, dismisses show as ‘a work of fiction’

Kevin Spacey appears to dismiss the new allegations against him of inappropriate behavior in Channel 4’s new documentary, as he praises the men on the show for their ‘great acting’.

The two-part Channel 4 series comes nine months after Spacey was acquitted of nine charges of sexual assault and looks at new claims made against him by several men, ‘almost all of whom have never spoken before’.

It is said that a “forensic look is being done on a man who was once one of the most admired and respected actors in the world.”

It would feature on-camera testimonies from British and American men, whose identities will not be hidden, about their experiences with Spacey over the course of fifty years.

Spacey, 64, appeared to dismiss the show as a work of fiction in a statement to entertainment magazine Variety.

He said: “I am honored to star in my first film with Warner Brothers in many years.

“I hope the Academy takes note of the great acting from the lesser-known cast.”

One source close to the project has been left “speechless” by Spacey’s response and its “sheer cockiness.”

Spacey was previously accused of abusing his fame and power to carry out nine sexual attacks on four men during his tenure as artistic director of the Old Vic theatre. But he insisted the claims were “crazy” and accused the claimants of “lying for money.”

In July 2023, the actor was dramatically acquitted of sexually assaulting the four men following a high-profile trial at Southwark Crown Court, in which Sir Elton John gave evidence in his defense.

Channel 4 rolled out the trailer for Spacey Unmasked this weekend, in which a voiceover from two men played over archived footage of the actor says: ‘This wasn’t just any man… this was Kevin freakin’ Spacey’ and ‘I knew I was in a ‘sell your soul’ situation’.

The show is produced by the channel’s former head of news and current affairs, Dorothy Byrne, who said when announced in 2022 that the show would “follow the story of the abuse allegations against him and the resulting court cases.”

It’s understood lawyers are waiting to hear from Spacey’s representatives for a response to the new allegations.

Channel 4 told MailOnline: ‘Spacey has been given the right to respond in relation to the content of the two-part documentary.’

Kevin Spacey’s representatives have also been contacted for comment.
