EXCLUSIVE: Kevin Spacey makes a RAUNCHY return to Hollywood as a charismatic hitman and ‘fallen soul’ in new trailer for his upcoming thriller Peter Five Eight – months after being acquitted of sexual assault charges

Kevin Spacey has begun his Hollywood comeback in dramatic fashion, starring as a passionate and deadly assassin in the daring new thriller Peter Five Eight, just months later. he was acquitted of sexually assaulting four men.

In an exclusive first look at the upcoming film, Spacey’s character Peter is seen disposing of a corpse, holding a woman under the knife – and calling himself a “fallen soul.”

Spacey, 64, plays the hitman who infiltrates a small town at the behest of his shadowy boss to kill real estate agent Sam, an out-of-control alcoholic with a very dark secret.

The trailer opens with Peter arriving in the small mountain community and pretending to view properties – and soon spending the night with Brenda – played by Rebecca De Mornay.

Viewers get a brief look at a raunchy bedroom scene as Peter pushes Brenda against the wall and kisses her, before the video cuts to him taking sneaky photos of her embracing a young brunette – who appears to be Sam, played by Jet Jandreau.

Things then turn sinister when a mysterious man is seen taking a burner phone from a safe and revealing himself as Peter’s boss, calling him the hitman and telling him to “make a mess of things.”

Peter then breaks the phone in half and throws it down a drain as the trailer cuts to a scene of Sam throwing an apparent corpse, wrapped in a rug, into a lake.

When Peter shows up at Sam’s home and workplace, she threatens to call the police, to which he responds, “Oh, I think we both know it’s not in your best interest to call the police, right?”

Next, Spacey’s character is seen brandishing a sniper rifle and chasing Sam in his car, before hiding her in a closet with a blood-stained face as he tells her, “I’m not here to kill you.” If you were, you’d already be dead.”

In a separate scene, Peter tells Sam “this is your last chance” as he caresses her face and shoots a man on the street in broad daylight.

Another blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment sees Sam crying behind the wheel of her car and also being held under the knife – presumably by Peter – before a huge explosion takes place.

In the final scene of the action-packed trailer, a woman asks Peter, “Can I help you?” to which he sarcastically replies, “Oh madam, I’m afraid there’s no hope for that anymore, I’m a fallen soul.”

A tagline for the film teases, “In this town, nothing is as it seems,” while writer and director Michael Zaiko Hall described the film as “a contemporary film rendered in a 1940s pulp melodrama style.”

He said: ‘Rebecca De Mornay, Jake Weber and Jet Jandreau all play great roles in this world – while Kevin Spacey has created a unique and memorable character for his fans to enjoy.’

Referring to the independent film company behind the film, Hall added, “We’re excited that Invincible Entertainment will be bringing this story to the big screen this March.”

In the past, Spacey has worked with some of the industry’s largest production companies, including DreamWorks, Universal and Warner Bros.

DailyMail.com exclusively revealed in September 2023 that Spacey was plotting a Hollywood comeback.

The American Beauty star was dramatically acquitted of sexually assaulting four men on July 26 when the jury at London’s Southwark Crown Court found not guilty on all counts.

Spacey was accused of abusing his fame and power to carry out nine sexual attacks on four men during his tenure as artistic director of the Old Vic theatre. But he insisted the claims were “crazy” and accused the plaintiffs of “lying for money.”

On the steps of the courthouse after the verdicts were handed down, The Usual Suspects actor thanked the jury and his legal team, as well as his longtime manager and longtime friend Evan Lowenstein for supporting him.

He said: ‘I imagine many of you can understand that I have a lot to process after what happened today. But I would like to say that I am extremely grateful to the jury for taking the time to carefully examine all the evidence and all the facts before reaching their decision.

“I am humbled by today’s outcome. “I also want to thank the staff at this courthouse, security, my legal team and Evan Lowenstein for being here every day.”

The allegations not only destroyed what had been a glittering showbiz career but also had major financial implications, with the star ordered to pay £25.5 million to House of Cards producers after being fired from the hit show.

He was also ordered to pay at least £1million in defense costs and suffered the humiliation of being edited out of Sir Ridley Scott’s film All The Money In The World. Earlier in the trial, Spacey had told the jury, “I’ve lost everything.”

After the not guilty verdicts, Spacey put his hand on his chest, looked at the jury and said “thank you” twice before they left the room.

Spacey wasted no time in getting back to work, and last month it was announced that he will make his first appearance at the three-day horror convention Mad Monster Party 2024, taking place February 16-18 in North Carolina.

The convention announced the news on its social media accounts, with a photo showing the actor with blood dripping down his hand.
