Kevin Spacey ‘REFUSES to leave’ his $5.6 million Baltimore mansion after it was sold at discount price at foreclosure auction, claims new owner

Kevin Spacey is refusing to leave his $5.6 million Baltimore mansion weeks after it was sold at auction for a discount, the new owner claims.

The 65-year-old actor previously said he was forced to sell the waterfront mansion to pay “millions of dollars” in legal fees he owes following his 2023 sexual abuse lawsuit.

In late July, the 8,800-square-foot estate sold at auction for $3.24 million to Maryland real estate investor Sam Asgari, who bought it anonymously.

And now Asgari has come forward to claim that Spacey is refusing to vacate the property and that he can continue to live there rent-free for another six months.

A lawyer for Spacey denied Asgari’s allegations to the Baltimore flag on wednesday.

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Spacey for further comment.

“Right now he refuses to leave,” Asgari claimed. The Baltimore Banner this week. ‘He’s asking for six months to vacate the property without paying anything.’

Asgari says he has been unable to get possession of the house since he bought it at auction three weeks ago.

He also claimed he was forced to negotiate with Spacey’s lawyers in hopes of convincing the actor to leave.

However, Spacey’s attorney, Edward U. Lee III, denied Asgari’s claim.

“Mr. Asgari’s accusation is false,” he wrote in a short statement to the newspaper on Wednesday.

According to The Baltimore Banner, foreclosure auctions require court approval before the winning bidder can purchase the property, a process that typically takes weeks.

Once the sale is finalized, the homebuyer can pursue a foreclosure with the assistance of the sheriff. Most of the time, the previous owner will voluntarily vacate the property being sold.

On July 25, news of the sale of Spacey’s Baltimore mansion was reported.

All that was known at the time was that it had been purchased for $3.24 million by an anonymous buyer.

“It’s an iconic property in Baltimore,” Compass Realtor Sam Sheibani told the Baltimore Sun about the sale. “We were very interested in buying it, obviously not under the circumstances that it’s being sold under, who it’s being sold by.”

The two-unit waterfront condo last sold in 2017 to Clear Toaster LLC for more than $5.6 million.

There were no images available of the property at auction. It was sold in “as is” condition.

Spacey has twice avoided bankruptcy since Hollywood silenced him in 2017 after allegations of sexual misconduct first surfaced.

Last year, the two-time Oscar winner was acquitted of nine sex crimes against four men over a 20-year period after a much-publicised trial in the UK.

Spacey has strongly denied the allegations, but he still faces a civil lawsuit filed by one of the accusers.

Last month he was a guest on Morgan’s Uncensored, where he said he is virtually broke and “many millions” in debt.

“Well, I mean, you have some idea about legal bills,” he said. “I still have a bunch of legal bills outstanding that I haven’t been able to pay.”

Spacey’s manager had previously tried to cast doubt on whether the property was actually owned by the star.

However, court documents revealed that he still owed a significant amount of money in arrears.

The home, located in the city’s Inner Harbor seaport, was secretly occupied by Spacey while he was filming the Netflix hit House of Cards. The property is registered to Clear Toaster LLC.

The sprawling riverfront estate was put up for sale after the actor fell behind on his mortgage payments following his sexual misconduct scandal, prompting streaming giant Netflix to fire him for breach of contract.

In 2021, an arbitrator ordered him to pay nearly $31 million to the studio that made the hit Netflix series House of Cards after it came to light that he had behaved inappropriately toward someone on the set of the series.

He also claimed he was forced to negotiate with Spacey's lawyers in hopes of convincing the actor to leave.

When Piers Morgan recently asked Spacey what he considered bad behavior, he said, “Pushing the boundaries.”

‘Being too hands-on, touching someone sexually in a way that I didn’t know at the time that they didn’t want. Me personally, I’ve caressed people, I’ve been gentle with people, that’s who I am.

But in February, he reached a settlement with Media Rights Capital (MRC) to pay $1 million.

In June, Spacey emotionally vowed that he would “not give up acting” after new allegations were made against him in a shocking documentary by Britain’s Channel 4.

The star accused the broadcaster of having “an agenda” in its decision to air the two-part film Spacey Unmasked.

The documentary contained previously unheard testimony about the actor’s alleged inappropriate behavior.

At the height of his career, Spacey was worth nearly $77 million and had a real estate empire in the US and London.

Earlier this month it was announced that Spacey had put his central London penthouse up for sale for £3 million.

The stunning duplex apartment, close to Waterloo station and his former home at the Old Vic theatre, offers sweeping views across London and was his home for 20 years.

The former Oscar winner is believed to have been living in the apartment at the time he got into trouble, after several men allegedly claimed he had attacked them.

Spacey has reportedly already left the penthouse, but his long-term plans are not yet clear.

A source told MailOnline: ‘The Waterloo duplex was Spacey’s pride and joy during the height of his life.

‘He came to London when he was at his peak and had won his Oscar for Best Actor in 2000 for American Beauty.

‘He wanted to emulate the great English actors like Olivier and Gielgud and he thought he would achieve this by becoming artistic director of the Old Vic, a theatre closely associated with them.

‘And he held that title for over ten years, whenever a door opened for him – but at the same time there was also this feeling that he could have whatever he wanted sexually. And that ultimately ruined him.

“This apartment is where it all happened – and where it all went wrong.”

The source added: ‘Kevin has lived there since 2004, but it’s unclear if he ever owned it. He may have just been renting it.’

After all, he is very careful with his financial affairs.

‘But the fact that he has now moved and the house is for sale says a lot about his situation.’
