Kevin Spacey is charged with seven further sexual assaults in Britain

Kevin Spacey has been charged with seven more sex offenses in the UK today – in addition to the five he already faced while artistic director of London’s Old Vic theatre.

The Hollywood star and Oscar winner, 63, who starred in the Netflix series House of Cards and films American Beauty and The Usual Suspects, is being charged by prosecutors with a series of sexual assaults against one man between 2001 and 2004.

The charges include three charges of indecent assault, three charges of sexual assault and one charge of inciting sexual activity without a person’s consent – all on the same alleged victim.

Kevin Spacey will appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, December 16, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.

Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said: “The CPS has approved additional criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 63, for a series of assaults against one man between 2001 and 2004.

“The CPS also authorized one charge of inciting sexual activity without a person’s consent. The charge follows an assessment of the evidence collected by the Metropolitan Police during its investigation.

Spacey has already been accused of a series of sexual assaults on three men in London and Gloucestershire between 2005 and 2013 when he was Artistic Director of the Old Vic Theatre.

In July at the Old Bailey, he faced four charges of assault and one charge of inciting penetrative sexual activity without consent.

Spacey denied the alleged crimes. He is now expected to undergo a three- to four-week trial from June 6 next year.

The former Hollywood star had previously indicated that he “firmly denies” the allegations made by the three men, who are now between the ages of 30 and 40.

The bespectacled American Beauty actor appeared in the dock of court one on July 14 wearing a light blue suit, white shirt and polka dot tie.

He gave his full name as Kevin Spacey Fowler and confirmed his date of birth as July 26, 1959.

The two-time Oscar winner was harassed by photographers and camera crews as he exited a dark Mercedes outside of court.

Leaving court, Spacey made no comment as he was taken in a chauffeured car with blacked-out windows.

The Old Bailey learned that the 63-year-old allegedly carried out four of the alleged attacks in London between 2005 and 2008.

The latest accusation is said to have happened in 2013 in Gloucestershire.

At the time of the allegations, Spacey was Artistic Director of the Old Vic Theater in London, a position he held between 2004 and 2015.

Theater bosses apologized after revealing they had received 20 complaints of “inappropriate conduct” against their artistic director, who was accused of having a “cult of personality” that contributed to the failure on behalf of the organization.

Meanwhile, Spacey was stripped of an Emmy Award, while his character Frank Underwood on the critically acclaimed Netflix show House of Cards was dropped when the claims came to light.

Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard Spacey questioning in New York for four days in June and promised that if charged he would come to Britain to answer them.

Patrick Gibbs QC, defending, told the court that Spacey ‘firmly denies’ the allegations and had ‘voluntarily’ returned to the UK, where he has an address in Waterloo, south London.

Gibbs said Spacey had returned to the UK “to establish his innocence” and “get on with his life.”

The prosecution cleared the charges against him in May, but Spacey could not be formally charged until he traveled to the UK last month.

Spacey, a two-time Oscar winner, previously said he would travel to the UK to face the charges, which he is expected to deny.

In a statement released to Good Morning America following the CPS announcement, he said, “While I am disappointed with their decision to move forward, I will voluntarily appear in the UK as soon as this can be arranged and defend myself against these charges.” , which I am convinced that my innocence will be proven.’
