Kevin McCarthy says DEMOCRATS share concern over Joe Biden’s involvement in Hunter’s business deals as House inches toward impeachment

Kevin McCarthy may be getting some Democratic support for the growing House of Representatives investigations into President Joe Biden and his involvement in his son Hunter’s shady foreign affairs.

While Congress is still in summer recess, the Speaker of the House of Representatives said Tuesday that if the White House continues to delay its investigation into the First Family, the House could resort to impeachment — something pro-MAGA Republicans have already done. months of insistence.

Some Democrats, McCarthy said Sunday, are even considering the possibility that Biden lied during his campaign when he said he knew nothing about and was not involved in his 53-year-old son’s foreign affairs.

“I’ve now heard from Democrats that they’re very concerned because they support this president based on what he said to America,” McCarthy told Fox News Sunday Morning Futures host Maria Bartimo. “And every time we discover that’s not true.”

Biden said during his campaign and since then that he is oblivious to his son’s foreign affairs, which brought in millions. His administration has also dismissed concerns that Hunter used the influence of his father’s position when he was vice president to enrich the Biden family.

However, Republicans in Congress are not convinced that Joe Biden was as aloof as he claims and have launched a series of investigations into the first family.

Since day one of Biden’s administration, Republicans have also threatened to impeach the president.

It’s not yet clear whether there are actually any Democrats willing to impeach — and some Republicans are even against it — but McCarthy says they’re at least becoming more aware of the corruption in the Biden family.

“What gets in the way of us doing an impeachment inquiry is that we have to provide the documents we ask for,” McCarthy said in an interview with Fox Business’ Larry Kudlow Tuesday. “If they provide us with the documents, there would be no need for an impeachment inquiry.”

“But if they withhold the documents and fight as they have now to not give the American public what they deserve to know, we will move forward with the impeachment inquiry when we get back in session,” he added.

Several leaders in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives have requested material for further investigation into the Bidens. These efforts have met with government roadblocks, which have led to further investigations into President Biden’s arming of the federal government.

“The only reason you know about all this information is because we caught the majority and hold the government accountable. It’s terrible what we’ve learned. It’s different from what President Joe Biden told us,” McCarthy said Tuesday of information coming to light about the Bidens.

Bartiromo asked bluntly on Sunday, “Do you want to open an impeachment inquiry against President Biden in September?”

“Well, Maria, first of all, you have to understand that just because the Republicans won the majority, we learned that what President Biden told us when he ran for office is not true,” he explained.

President Joe Biden said during his 2020 campaign and has since maintained that he had no knowledge of or involvement in Hunter's shady foreign affairs dealings — and that his position of power was not being abused to enrich his family.

“He said he never had anything to do with his son’s business and never even talked to him. We have now found out that he did not just attend the meetings. He went to eat. And after dinner, Hunter Biden was given a new Porsche — for which $3.5 million had been transferred,” added Speaker McCarthy.

“We just found out that the family started 20 shell companies because he was vice president.”

He said, “They received 16 out of 17 payments from Romania while he was vice president. We now found out that the money would flow to nine family members. He has to keep changing this.’

McCarthy told Bartimo lawmakers want to “answer the American public” when it comes to whether Biden was lying.

“There are still many questions,” the Speaker of the House of Representatives told Sunday Morning Futures. “And to get the answers to these questions, you would need an impeachment inquiry to empower Congress, the Republicans, and the Democrats, to get the answers the American people deserve to know.”
