Kevin Durant is OUT of tonight’s Suns game against the Thunder after SLIDING across the court during pregame warmups…leaving Phoenix fans sweating over their new star’s fitness.
Phoenix Suns superstar forward Kevin Durant was ruled out of tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder after injuring his left ankle when he slipped on the court during pregame warmups.
Durant has played three games for the Suns since being traded by the Brooklyn Nets just before the NBA trade deadline.
Throughout his three games he has averaged 29.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
Durant was diagnosed with “left ankle soreness” according to an announcement made by the Suns, but it’s currently unclear how long the injury will keep him sidelined.
Veteran forward Torrey Craig was inserted into the lineup in his place on Wednesday.

Phoenix has won all three of its games since adding Durant to the roster, as the combination of him and superstar Devin Booker has proven too difficult for opposing defenses to stop.
Booker has scored 35 or more points in the three games since Durant joined the lineup. His season average has been 27.2 points, which shows just how much he’s benefited from Durant’s presence.
Durant’s trade from the Nets came shortly after point guard Kyrie Irving was sent from Brooklyn to the Dallas Mavericks, after Irving requested a trade following lack of progress in contract negotiations.
Phoenix and Oklahoma City are in desperate need of a win due to the close-knit nature of the Western Conference playoff race.
The Suns’ current record is 36-29, which is good enough for fourth place in the West. Oklahoma City, on the other hand, is currently in a three-way tie for 10th place in the conference with a 31-34 record.
If the season ended today, the Thunder would lose the tiebreaker for the final spot in the NBA play-in tournament.
Durant has played in three games for the Suns so far and is averaging 29.5 points per game.
